dont know about you?

Post by Albion03 »

i dont know about any of you but after seeing jimmy on wednesday and listening to everything he had to say made me appreciate his music that much more...personally i didnt think that could happen but it did...just seeing his mindset first hand was awesome...i love his new book even more(if thats possible). he did a great job, and it looked like he was having such an awesome time talking with everyone and just singing songs that fit the mood. Jimmy still is having a great time and I hope he knows we are all having a great time listening to him and enjoying the esacpeism that he provides us!!! he is a great story teller and we are all lucky we found his music!!!

then on a side note i was wondering what you thought the best song he played on wednesday night was? personally i thought it was creola. i never really enjoyed that song until he played it wednesday. now i cant get enough of it... thanks again jimmy that was a great show hope to see many more!!!!!

I enjoyed Salty Piece of Land the most...it just fit with all the lighthouse, beaches, travels, family, women, etc, etc.

Next, I liked Wind Cries Mary...just something about all the instruments (Utley's piano) and the female vocals and Jimmy enjoying it so much.

All those songs were very good and it was great to hear/see them. But to me, it seemed that Jimmy really enjoyed playing Piece of Work. He was jamming, really belting it out with a huge smile on his face. I enjoyed that song the most.

Yeah, I totally agree with that. He was definitely rippin' it up on that tune. I liked "Coastal Confessions" too and "Pascagoula Run" was really cool. Oh, and I really liked "If I Had A Boat" and "Creola" was awesome too. Besides, I thought that "I Will Play For Gumbo" was great too. "Changes in Latitude" and "A Pirate Looks At Forty" were wonderfully done also!! Let's not forget about "The Wino & I Know"!! Even though he skipped a verse it was a song that I've always wanted to hear live.

All in all... The show totally kicked ass!! I really couldn't be more proud of my favorite musical artist!! He really is the best!! :D

I really left Wednesday's show with an even greater appreciation for Jimmy and his music! As for my favorite song from that night..... uh Coastal Confessions, The Wino and I Know, Changes in Latitudes, or If I Had a Boat. Sorry, I can't trim it down any smaller than that!

The Coastal Confessions show sounds more wonderful every time I read about it. I can hardly wait for the DVD; hopefully those of us in Indy will have electricity when it comes out. :-?
