I have 2 ... eerily similar
In 1973 my grandmother was in St. Louis spending Christmas with my uncle's family for the first time in years since my grandfather had finally lost his battle with dementia earlier that year, allowing her to travel. Christmas Eve she had an anyeurism blow in her brain. She died 2 months later but we kids were told about it Christmas morning as Mom prepared to fly to St. Louis to be with her mother.
Then in 1990 my other Grandmother who had been a very strong woman until she broke her hip, gave up and died on Christmas Day.

How about finding Mom, still dressed in the Santa Suit, wedged in the chimney, 5 days after Christmas?
