Has BW been Hacked?
I got a black page with red lettering that said....
"This site defaced" then something about a worm.

Hacked big time.
It is indeed a webworm, targetting the most recent vulnerabilities
announced this past Friday in PHP.
Yesterday a or some Brazilian hackers went at a bunch of sites. I think it is a Spam type hack.
Hopefully he wont loose everything during his restore..

I agree he has put a whole lot of work into his site. Along with this one it is my favorite Buffett site.Tiki Bar wrote:I don't visit much, but AMC put a lot of work into having a cool site. I feel bad for him and his guests, and hope there's an easy fix.
No real easy fix I'm afraid. They had a field day with the php and html files. A good backed up restore is really the only way to get everything back. Plus if he doesn't wipe his server clean (i.e. format and reinstall) the hackers still have a back door to his box.

This really bytes.
Really, no joke, this is horrible as AMC and Bamafan put so much work into that site and had many unique features, such as the discography and the album art section. That one section featured many scans of record packages by AMC himself, and judging by the size of vinyl jackets, sleeves and inserts, it can be a long a tedious job to do.
Let’s hope all the eggs weren’t in one basket and he has most of the html and image files on his hard disk.

Not one shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious...

Josh and Bama have obviously put a tremendous amount of work into building a really nice site.
Here's hoping they don't lose too much.
