Kenny's island record
I saw in an earlier post that Kenny Chesney is coming out with an island record in January. Just want to know what everyone thinks..

I can't wait.......(I hope this doesn't turn into another bash Kenny thread)..... you can listen to some sound bites on his website. I like it, I like it alot.
The acoustic version (ocean mix) of "Old Blue Chair" should be awesome.

Question: "And now Kenny Chesney has recorded a beach album." Jimmy's Answer: "It's flattering. Some people say I should be p*** off about it but I'm really not. It's the highest form of flattery, and I'm fine with it."

I have the record, but am ashamed to say I haven't had time to listen to it yet. We did an interview with him a couple of weeks ago, we're going to World Premiere his album the weekend before it goes on sale, and of COURSE I had to ask him about Jimmy. He had some great things to say about their friendship, and the island lifestyle. Good stuff.

What station do you work for again? For those of us not in Nashville, can we get a live feed online?
I've very much looking forward to this new album, and can't wait for Kenny's tour next year.
Carry on as you know they would want you to do. ~~JB, dedication to Tim Russert

I work for XM Satellite Radio, and yes, you can get a free three day trial online at XM Radio.com. I'll try to remember to come back here before the show airs and remind anyone who's interested.SchoolGirlHeart wrote:Cool!!

I think this one is going to be a good addition to the down island collection. Go to Kenny's website and you can listen to clips. Sounds good so far.

In the lower right is a "pre-order" link where you can listen to previews of about 1/2 the album.
The album comes out Jan 25. Give Kenny a chance.

Salt air it ain't thin,
It can stick right to your skin,
And make you feel fine
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor.

I don't hear much Ro-Bot on the samples from the website. Actually, this album doesn't sound nearly as "islandy" as I thought it would.I believe Robert Greenidge is all over the record...
I'd be willing to bet Jerry Jeff Walker's "Cowboy Boots and Bathin' Suits" is better than Kenny's new album though.
