I WISH he would play other stuff! He did Distantly In Love in Orlando and I nearly died of happiness. How bout "No Woman, No Cry"? Or..Morris's Nightmare? Or..."Please Take Your Drunken 15 Year Old Girlfriend Home"? After all he has several hundred songs and usually does the same ones pretty much. The License To Chill stuff was refreshing this year. He must get tired of the same old same . BUT...I too would miss Fins and Southern Cross and Come Monday and...oh cripes! Maybe he should just do 3 days in a row and do them all!

Gonna dance til I fall!

I think one of the reasons that he can't take them out, (other than the "those are the standards" reason) is that those are some of the most upbeat songs, and if he replaced them with songs such as "Distantly In Love", it would kill some of the atmosphere. A majority of his great "other" songs are more ballads. Not all, but a majority.

Wow I wish I could narrow it down to 50!!!Gypsy In The Palace wrote:I have said this before, and I'll say it again: The only way to have a perfect set list is to have a three day festival where every song is played!!
I sat down before the last tour and tried to write what I thought would be the perfect set lists. I wound up with close to 50 songs!!

Margaritaville - yes it would bother melandshark04 wrote:jimmy didnt play some of his more well known songs like margaritaville, volcano, cheesburger in paradise.....u know stuff like that......personally i dont think it would bother me to much

Fins - same answer as you
Otherwise keep some, ditch a few, mix it up would be fine as long as it stays predominatly upbeat
Since Margaritaville is the "anthem" maybe he should just play it right off the bat while we salute the Conch Republic flag...

I would *love* to hear an acoustic show in a tiny venue. Either Jimmy alone, Jimmy and Mac, or Jimmy and the Beach Band.
Don't get me wrong... I love the whole big production with the CRB, but I'd still love to see Jimmy in the simplest of forms....

If we're honest, A LOT of us started with SYKBH. (Except us really old pharts, who liked Jimmy before the Yellow Album arrived on the scene.big hat carmen wrote:I agree with msu; we took our son for the first time to Cincinnati and watching him was a blast. Yes, SYKBH was all he could sing, but it introduced him to a new world of songs.
Personally, I could go with a rotation, but then Jimmy would miss one of my favorites.Yes, we need the 3 day concert.

) It's a *blast* to watch newbies at shows.
Although I personally wouldn't miss CIP, it does get the crowd going, and it's a fun concert song. Can't imagine a show without Fins, though.......

Here too, and Volcano just to hear what he made up for the destinations "he don't wanna go to". On the other hand, Cheeseburger is usually the bathroom call. And just once, I would love to hear "The Far Side of the World" live.buffettbride wrote:It's a toss up. If I have my keet with me at the show, I'd really miss those songs because she enjoys them so much. If it was at a show with just me and hubby I'd like to see him change it up a bit.
I'd still miss Fins and Margaritaville though.
