1001 Questions from the Songs of Jimmy Buffett

Post by botdrnk »

We're all familiar with the "Things You Know By Heart - 1001 Questions from the Songs of Jimmy Buffett." If you took the time to work through the book and answer the questions, then you certainly (hopefully) took the time to track the number of answers you scored correctly.

How many did you miss?

Since it's Christmas Time (ie: Jimmy's Birthday), honesty is a MUST!

I know we have some die-hard, hardcore, praise be to Bubba, phriends here (yes, I'll confess to being one as well), so I know the scores will be high. But I'm wondering "How high"?

Happy Holidays everybody and Happy Birthday Jimmy (jeez, I wonder how Jimmy would score on the trivia book).

I never kept score officially, but I'd say I 600-700 things about the songs of Jimmy Buffett. Believe me, I thought I wouldn't miss one! A lot of those questions were pretty obscure (and some were wrong).

I flew through it. Perhaps if I had had a #2 pencil and had taken my time I would have done better.

That's an interesting question since I thought I knew just about everything about the man and the songs. After the first 5 or 6 pages I set the book aside. My brain was just too tired. I am on my way to my daughters for Christmas and last night decided to stick the book in my luggage and spend some time trying it again. Also want to test the parrothead daughter and son in law! I'll let you know the (probably pathetic) results!

I admit I didn't sit down and do it all at once nor did I keep score but I do recall finding some "answers" that I know were wrong. I would venture that if I kept score it would be somewhere around 600.

It's a book by Olaf Nordstrom. Pretty interesting. There is another book, The Jimmy Buffett Trivia Book, also. Although some of the questions a little TOO deep.

It's great to hear the responses. I've got this book sitting on a shelf behind my bar. I'm waiting for the right time to sit down with it. I swear that each time I walk into the room it looks at me as if to say, "You're such a chicken....just take the darn test."

I'll dive into it in the next month or so and will be sure to post my "true score."

How do you think Jimmy would do?

Again, Happy Xmas!

Probably not as well as you think.. I heard he was outscored on the application test of "All things Parrothead" for working at M'ville. :)

Just looked on Amazon and a couple other places. Olaf is listed for cookbooks, but nothing for quiz books. Shoot, even the cookbook has someone trying to sell it for $100. Shoot

For those of you that don't have it, you can purchase it at Margaritaville.com.

What is the test "All Things Parrothead" and where can I get a copy? Or am I gullible and that was a joke? Ha,ha.....
