Mailboat said that there would be shows from the License to Chill tour released as live albums. I remember hearing Chicago would be one of them. I'm not to sure what other shows will be on this list.

I would imagine Dallas is also on the list... given the lack of broadcast and the cross-over duets.. Just like the Thursday show with Martina in Chicago.

I thought there was talk of releasing that show on a DVD. Would they have a CD for that too? The cross label promotion of that (MCA/RCA/Mailboat) would be a nightmare.

I was unaware of the talk about a DVD of the show. I think it would be easier to get the details worked out on a CD with Strait and Jackson appearing on it rather than DVD. Yes, I am probably talking out of my sleeve.

The DVD of the 12/8 show is in the works. No release date yet.

The live discs have been put off indefinitely. Perhaps spring, but nothing concrete.

You should have prefaced this with "I have good news and I have bad news...." I like using cliches 8)

You are right. I was a bit short with my reply. Sorry.

I should also add, we are dealing with Mailboat here. So who knows. (Although, this info came from a source other than Mailboat).

what about (and i'm sure this has been mentioned.....when i post something, it's kinda like a JB concert...by the time he sings, the rest of the PH nation has already beat him to the punch) coming out w/ the Orlando show and donating proceeds to the hurricane fund?

has that been discussed yet?

When will the Boise show come out on CD?

Probably before the Nashville, and after the Kansas City shows

Now that's funny (and sad). I feel for those of you who don't get a nearby show and then rely on the broken promises of Mailboat to deliver quality discs of the shows.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Buffett needs to employ a system like Phish or String Cheese Incident. Those bands, for those of you who don't know, have their live shows available for download in MP3 or lossless format within 48 hours of the end of the show. I realize RM fills quite a void, but I don't think that is the answer (very poor audio quality and no easy way to time shift).

I ordered the first Mail Boat live CD, "Live in Las Vegas" 2003 and was really disappointed. You can barely hear the crowd during the show, which is the real fun of a live recording. I haven't ordered another from them, as I would rather listen to Jimmy's own live CDs. If anybody knows if their quality has gotten better, please let me know.

The quality was very good on the Mansfield and Cincinatti shows... much better than Vegas or Auburn

How about using the instant live cd's like Kiss did this summer?
Jimmy is going to make money on them and people that want a good quality cd just have to poney up the $25 they cost. I would pay for my Alpine CD in a heartbeat as I am sure many others also would.

Grrr. Clear Channel.

In all seriousness, Instant Live is a great idea. I just dread the thought of putting more money into Clear Channel's pockets. But, for Buffett, I probably would shell out the $25.

Still, I prefer the digital downloads (lossless SHN or FLAC). I don't know why...I'm just a digital kinda guy I guess.
