Ok, I haven't, sorry I can't help you there but this did make me start thinking. How many margaritaville restaurants are there and wonder who has been to all of them? Wonder which one is the best? This might not be the right place to ponder these questions but it kinda goes with your question. I have only been to the ones in Orlando and Myrtle Beach.

- Key West
Orlando
New Orleans
Charleston
Las Vegas
Cancun
Negril
Ocho Rios
Montego Bay
Air Margaritaville (at the Jamaica airport in Montego Bay)
Myrtle Beach (or is this a Cheeseburger in P.?)
and all the Cheeseburger in Paradise's
I've been to the Key West and the New Orleans ones. I liked the N.O. best, but that may just be because it was my first!

So far I've been to Key West, LAs Vegas, Charleston, Orlando, Myrtle Beach, Montego Bay, Air Margaritaville. I would say my favorite two would be Orlando and Myrtle Beach. Key West is very different from the others. Montego Bay's location is nice , but I was not too impressed with the place. I actually had more fun at the airport. I think The Cancun one is in a shoping mall.

The Cancun Margaritaville is located in the heart of the shopping district. The island of Cancun is sort of shaped like an upsidedown "L" and M'ville is where the two lines come together.
As for where to stay, that's tough because there are so many places to stay depending on your budget and tastes. I've stayed at the JW Marriott which is a fair distance away and at the Melia which is reasonably close, at least close enough to walk if you wanted to.
Now all I have to do is manage to get to the M'villes in Myrtle Beach and Jamaica and then I will have visited them all!

By all means do Margaritaville once while you are there. Doesn't matter where you stay, because bus service on the main drag is often and cheap.
Not sure if it is solely a spring break thing or not, but if they still do it, the Tequila Frogs Bar Leaping Tour is a great deal!! $50 per person plus tip, but you take tour busses to 5 different bars, never pay cover or wait in line to get in, and drink for free at every bar. Best part is, you never even have to go up to the bar! You have your own servers that go with the tour and are really good about having a new drink in your hand before you finish the one you're working on. A relatively low percentage of participants make it to the last bar. Fun because even if some clubs are dead, there are a whole bunch of people in your tour so it's pretty much an instant party wherever you go. Highly recommended.
