Possible Project with Brooks and Dunn

Post by ladyparrothead »

I was watching the morning local news show (KTLA in Los Angeles). They were talking about Brooks and Dunn. Then the newcast said that Brooks and Dunn were going to be working on a project with Jimmy Buffet. There was a *very* short clip of Jimmy and that was it. Just a heads up?

Because Brooks and Dunn are more of the kind of music that passes for "country" these days when it's actually closer to pop or rock n' roll. I'd much rather see Buffett work with the likes of Jerry Jeff or Guy Clark but to each their own.

Hell I'd rather hear Jimmy perform a duet with some old recordings of Gram Parsons.

because it seems like the only thing he is capable of doing latley is duets of other peoples music. Jimmy put pen to paper and come up with something original and stop the duets and cover songs! My opinion :D

and Jimmy has been doing a really good job whoring himself out lately. It seems to me that Jimmy is becoming more concerned with being a businessman first and a musician second... it use to be the other way around :-?

I don't think that's anything new. I recall reading a story from back in the 70s where Buffett retreated to his motel room immediately following one of his gigs. When a band member peaked in to check on him he wasn't kicking back drinkin' and smokin' but instead had his reciepts spread across the bed and was counting that evening's take.

You guys don't like Kicks and Ronnie either?

Heck, I'm just happy Jimmy's not retiring! If he is enjoying this kinda stuff, I'm all for it!
