tsunami relief concert?

It seems that Jimmy would do a tsunami relief concert somewhere. I mean, I would do a tsunami relief concert but I don't think anyone would show up.
All kidding aside, we need to help out our island phriends over there. This is the worst natural disaster ever. Doing a big benefit with Jimmy and maybe some others would awesome. Maybe like an all day event. Something/anything we do to help more.
Check out these pics that brother PHBeerman posted:

BTW, my wife and I noticed last night that most of the places on tropical calendars form this year and last are now gone!

When anyone thinks of anything beach or island related, they think of Jimmy (REALLY, it's not just us

). He's gotta do it!

They are saying now that the 150,000+ dead could go up or even double by the time they are through counting. Some island have not even reported in yet.
Wish I could go and help.....but I think everyone wishes they could. Then again, I don't know if I could handle the site of it all.

I hope Jimmy does NOT do one. Our country has given enough money over there. Why not do a benefit concert for the familys who have lost loved ones over in the middle east. Those familys only get around $8500 and are TAXED on it too.

I can only hope that if anything like this ever happened to our country, that the rest of the world would not have the same attitude as yourself. I understand the part about the Middle East, but how can you have no compassion for these people whose lives have been so drastically changed forever?

The majority of the people over there are MUSLIM.
Who attacked us on 9-11? MUSLIMS.
You sending money over there is just supporting them more. Why not let France and Germany give them all the money.

That is simply a wrong argument....just because a small select group of Muslims attacked this country does not make the whole group terrorists.
These countries affected are in desperate situations now and no amount of assistance is too much for what they are facing.
I agree that the families who have lost a loved one in the war are not treated justly (I don't think they are treated justly by having loved ones forced to go over there and fight an unjust war).....however, the situations are unrelated.
We are by nature a caring country and when one of the largest disaster to ever hit this planet kills 150,000+ people......I am simply amazed that anyone can show as little compassion as you are in this thread.

Pages 5 on in that "before and after" series you can really see a difference... In Indonesia, especially. Wow.

I was cut off in traffic yesterday by a black man. Does that mean I have to be racist from now on?

How is that racist in what I said? I belive you may be the closet racist in this group if you have to bring up something that was said many months ago.

however, back on topic... I have a suggestion....
suppose Jimmy doesn't do a benefit show? what's to keep us from taking the 50-odd dollars (or far more) we would have spent on a ticket, plus whatever we would have spent on our preferred tailgating food and drink, and send it to the relief fund of our choice? (Red Cross or UNICEF come to mind pretty quickly....)
let's do it, people.... do we really need Jimmy to do a benefit concert just so we'll open our wallets?

Very good point, SGH... I'm glad you suggested it. Our minister in church today said, "The system is in place for 100% of your donation to go to tsunami relief if you make a donation to our church and write that on the for line." Our local Red Cross and United Way are doing the same. Anyone who wants to give should not have a difficult time finding out how to do so.

You can't be serious..... Somehow, I think most people of color would take the *N* word (which is pretty obviously what you meant) as racist.....
Me? Racist?? Now that's funny....

You've never met me... I think the people here who have would be likely to say differently....
You said what you said and never took it back.... You just implied all Muslims the same as the radical Muslims who attacked us. I hope all caucasians aren't considered the same as white supremacists and neo-nazis.
By your statements, you're a bigot.

I would just like to know, how that comment makes me a racist? Did I say I hate them? I just want to know why we are the ones who always have to help countries out, when they never help us in return. That does not make a person racist at all.

I didn't say racist, I said bigot. But if the shoe fits...
From the
American Heritage DictionaryBigot: One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.
Racist: Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
footnote: the post here may or may not have crossed the "bigot" line, but past posts have shown you to be a bigot.... IMHO.....
