but Dino was right about Alpine last year.....
Dino was right last year...
I have heard from two good sources that he'll play Citizen's Bank Park here in Philly, no dates yet, but no a lot of choices on the Phillies schedule if he needs them to be out of town for at least 6 games.
My biggest fear is that when I die, my wife will sell all my Buffett stuff for what I said I paid for it!
I would love it if he played Sam Boyd stadium in Vegas instead of the MGM. It would allow for a true tailgate atmosphere which would be absolutely incredible and ticket prices would probably be more affordable in an off-strip venue as well!
I won't speak for Dino, but he really only had information for Alpine and Tinley Park last year, not the entire tour. Therefore, I don't know if he's going to have information for every city and every ballpark in the country.
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'
Wonder what this would mean for those in MD. I thought there was a huge ruckus this past year about Camden Yards with a couple of artists and it didn't work out for us then.
I assume he'd play the open air pavillions like he always does? I sure hope so, like Merriweather and Nissan. Those are my tickets!!!
I got a carribean soul I can barely control and I gotta go where it's WARM!
The stadium tour, if it happens could be a bad sign for future tours. Think about it, one tour, twice as many people attending, it is like having a two year tour in one. Just a thought.

Saw Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, The Dixie Chicks, and George Strait at Sam Boyd a few years ago...was NOT impressed with the stadium set up at all. My opinion only.
Although you are right...ticket prices for this line up were only about $50.

AND there was no tailgating...AND it was good but not Great Woods...AND he broke the curse on the DAMN Red Sox the first two I could over look once the third I may not be able to forgive...
Some times I feel like a propeller, spin, spin outtta control. I don't who is up on the throttle, boy I wish they would let it go....

I saw the Dead there!!! a great Tailgate place.. (from what I remember)
A stadium tour is risky for sound, but what about weather?? At the pavilions, unless there is a monsoon with hurricane winds and heavy lightning, the show can still go on. At stadiums, since all set up would be outdoors (except for domes and retractable roof venues -- can you imagine how bad that sound would be), you'd have to cancel shows anytime it rained. That would have done in two of the three shows I attended last year. A special concert like Wrigley would be okay as a one-off (okay, so I'm a sentimental Cubs fan) but a whole tour of stadiums would be disappointing for sound quality and inclement weather considerations. I can understand the logic of wanting to make more tickets available per show, but I'm not sure the risks outweigh the perceived benefit here.

Has no one considered the fact that tickets might be hell to get this year, yes I know from experience that they have always been tuff(ive only gotten tickets thru ticketmaster once), but maybe Jimmy wants everyone that wants to go to get in this year. With the success he's had this year that could mean a ton of people. I agree some stadiums have horrible sound, the Silverdome for the George Strait festival was byfar the worst sound Ive ever heard, but Blink 182 at Pine Knob last year was pretty close and its a tiny venue. I saw The Rolling Stones in Spartan Stadium in 1993, a venue that would more than likely be double the size of any baseball stadium Jimmy would play and the sound was Awesome!!! It can work.

the weather issue is a really good point, though........ without cover, there could be postponements or even *gulp* cancelations.....

The stadium shows I have seen (Stones, Springsteen and a couple of others) were "rain or shine"--at the Springsteen concert the infield was covered with a tarp to protect it from being damaged by all the fans. I wouldn't count on a cancellation or postponement here.

it's not the audience..... it's the stage, and the electrical stuff... Chula Vista was postponed last fall because of the rain...

You'd think, but I just took a look at my ticket stub from Springsteen, which was Aug of 2003 at US Cellular (where the White Sox play) and it says rain/shine. It wouldn't be pretty!
