I was expecting Jimmy to do ASPOL. I've never seen him do Margaritaville solo so I did not mind him playing it.
I thought that Jimmy did a great job and the crowd was really into him.
I've never watched Ellen's show but I thought it was quite funny.
I liked the "owlhead" joke.
I'm guessing that it was cold whever the show was taped and perhaps it was chapstick or he simply just licked/wet his upper lip.
It was taped out here in SoCal a couple days ago. I think he just forgot to wipe the RAIN of it.

I thought it was entertaining. It's pretty funny to hear just Jimmy say the salt salt salt part! I just can't understand why they couldn't take the price tag off of Jimmy's hat - maybe a tribute to Minnie Pearl?

I like Ellen, planned all day to watch and then got busy and forgot. Where are my priorities. Did she dance with him?

Did anyone happen to tape it? Any chance of getting a copy. My VCR failed me and I wound up with "Home Improvement" for some reason.
Please PM me if anyone has a copy
Thanks

If there's any chance, I'd appreciate a copy too. Will gladly pay to copy and ship it. Thought I had the VCR programmed. Got home tonght and it's still sitting there with the light blinking and nothing recorded. I can drive one of the best corporate jets in the world but turn me loose on a VCR and I crash and burn....SHEESH!!

I agree, after he put the hat on, all I could focus on was the price tag. Hopefully this wasn't a one time visit and they plan on returning it
Also I was curious about the glistening on his lip. As if he himself was covered in oil. Those lights must have been hot.
Good show though, would've liked to hear a different song(ASPOL - still haven't heard it

), but I would tune in to hear anything by Jimmy.

I tried watching the rerun on Oxygen last night and it was a rerun of the Ben Stiller show. I felt like I was trying to play the NTN trivia again.

Why you got a rerun of ellen ..

No Buffett on Ellen in WBAL-TV area. I received this email today explaining why...
Hi,
Today we experienced severe interference in the satellite transmission
of the Ellen Show to our station. For that reason, we were unable to air
the show scheduled for today and instead aired an encore production of a
previous show. We are currently working with their production company to
get that show transmitted to us again. We will likely air it the next
time they are airing a rerun. Otherwise, we would not be on schedule for
the current new shows being produced everyday. We are sorry for the
inconvenience but I strongly felt the show with the technical difficulties
was just to annoying to watch.
Thanks,

It was a Martin, but not either of his signature Martins. Maybe it was the original HD-18?
Also, did anyone notice how wierd he played Margaritaville, it seemed like he was using different chord changes and little variations, especially when he sings, "but, I know. Its somebody's fault." right after that. I dug it, but it was different.

Stayed hm to watch it. As usual, it was near the end, about 40 mintues into the show.
Did you hear Nichole Kidman's laugh? It was like the Nanny. She was so emberassed when it slipped out... Here's this class act laughing like a nutcake. She had no idea what a Parrot Head was... During the interview, I thought Jimmy could have done a better job of how the name Parrot Head got started, but then again, that may have been above the ability of the audience to get it...
BTW Ellen gave everyone in the audience a cy of JB's SPOL book!!!!

They did not mention the CD/song in it tho.
I think the lip shine was make up, it was too even all the way around. Dumb stage make up artist should know they use stage ligths that show that stuff...
We had commercials for the show that showed Nichole K and Ellen having margaritas, but it was not on the show, so was probably during commercials...
I like Ellen's offbeat style. She does a lot of adlibbing, and is pretty creative in her delivery.
Overall, I liked how Jimmy did the laid back SOLO of Margaritaville. Not easy to do all alone. Nicely done. Not sure the audience got the Salt Salt Salt bit too well...
BUT the audience all stood up and was rocking along, with 2 PHs who managed to get in!!! GOOD WORK you 2!!!!
I think Jimmy was "exposing himself" to a new crowd, spreading the word, and selling the book... Bringing more disciples on board the
PS I liked Ellen's joke about after you go to Margaritaville, you have to go to Hangover Harbor afterwards!!!!! But she said the trip was worth it!

It was cute and different. I made my mom and dad watch. They like him. But the lip gloss, like he was made up in '5 o'clock Somewhere', is just a little goofy. Now we know it wasn't the video-making people's fault....Jimmy must like the stuff! IT'S TOO SHINY!!!

I've never watched the show before but I did yesterday. When she went into the confession box at the end I thought for sure that was going to lead into Jimmy ending the show with Coastal Confessions. Oh well, I liked the solo acoustic version of Margaritaville. Always fun to see Jimmy on tv

The shiny lip gloss thing was goofy -- someone lost control while putting it on -- like a 4-year old got into the lipstick -- got some on the lips as well as half of the face.
I was kind of hoping they'd have Jimmy do the confessional -- can you imagine how much fun that could have been??! I thought Ellen's confessional comments were interesting about Buffett and buffet having the same spelling

...hmmmm...it's probably good that Jimmy did a Parrothead 101 because Ellen seems to have needed the basic version. I think she'd catch on pretty quick if she'd go to a concert.
The whole thing was fun, but I could have done with one less segment of Nicole (she had 3 or 4) and one more segment of Jimmy (only 2).

Hangover Town...
I love the Ellen show - I watch it every day on my lunch break. She
cracks me up. I was so excited when I saw that Jimmy would be on.
I hope he comes back to the NW soon!!!
