It was a Martin, but not either of his signature Martins. Maybe it was the original HD-18?
Also, did anyone notice how wierd he played Margaritaville, it seemed like he was using different chord changes and little variations, especially when he sings, "but, I know. Its somebody's fault." right after that. I dug it, but it was different.
Matt, He augmented a few chords and played an a minor in place of the A. Let me listen to the tape and I'll give you the whole thing if you want. When playing solo Jimmy frequently does this especially on stuff that has alot of action going on in the full band versions.

Matt,
Take it you are a guitar player too. When you play Margaritaville, do you use a little D/D minor variation at the end of the verses to kinda get the vibe of the whole band when they play it. What do you do there? What is your favorite JB tune to play?

Hi,
Today we experienced severe interference in the satellite transmission
of the Ellen Show to our station. For that reason, we were unable to air
the show scheduled for today and instead aired an encore production of a
previous show. We are currently working with their production company to
get that show transmitted to us again. We will likely air it the next
time they are airing a rerun. Otherwise, we would not be on schedule for
the current new shows being produced everyday. We are sorry for the
inconvenience but I strongly felt the show with the technical difficulties
was just to annoying to watch.
Thanks,
Wanda Q. Draper

Well now I'm glad I didn't go out of my way just to miss it. I set the vcr but was disturbed when it was a rerun.
Thanx

Margarita Matt, After the phrase of words in each verse I play notes out of the chord to sort of fill things up. Also do this in place of the solo. My favorite songs to play constantly change. On electric I like In The City right now. On acoustic Cowboy in the Jungle and School Boy Heart.

I did not record it so I only saw it once but it looked like he was staying pretty basic almost how I play it except I like to play the intro as well as the part that goes between "but I know" and " it my own damn fault"
basically I convert the xylophone/flute to guitar

My wife was kind enough to tivo it . I watched it last night and was 500000% more entertaining that Regis and Kelly interview! I was going to delete the show after watching it but I think I'll hold onto it.
