MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA

SATURDAY, APRIL 9

Tickets Go On Sale Saturday, Jan. 22 at 10 a.m.

LAS VEGAS - Singer, songwriter and author Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band return to the MGM Grand Garden Arena for the first time in 2005 for a Saturday, April 9 concert. The performance will begin at 8 p.m.

Tickets priced at $200, $100 and $65, not including applicable service charges and taxes, go on sale Saturday, Jan. 22 at 10 a.m. at the MGM Grand Garden Arena box office. Tickets also will be sold at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (Tower Records/WOW!, Smith’s Food and Drug Centers, Robinsons-May stores and Ritmo Latino) and ticket sales are limited to eight (8) per person. To charge by phone with a major credit card, call MGM Grand Reservations at 800-929-1111/702-891-7777 or Ticketmaster at (702) 474-4000. Tickets also are available for purchase at www.mgmgrand.com or www.ticketmaster.com.

Wristband distribution will begin on Saturday, Jan. 22 at 6 a.m. and end at 9 a.m. A random number will then be drawn and a line-up will be in sequential order beginning with the random number selected. A wristband does not guarantee that a ticket can be purchased.

Buffett uses his travels and storytelling skills to explain the world at large to his far-flung legion of fans, affectionately known as Parrotheads. Parrotheads are known for their colorful, tropically outrageous outfits at the concerts and many of Buffett’s songs inspire the unusual wardrobe.

Buffett's newest CD, License To Chill, debuted at No. 1 on both the pop and country charts and was the first No. 1 record of his career. The collection, which features duets with some of country’s biggest stars including Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith and Martina McBride among others, spent 15 weeks in the Top 10 of the Billboard Country Albums Chart and has been certified platinum by the RIAA.

Buffett's new novel, A Salty Piece Of Land, was released Nov. 30, 2004 and the New York Times said it “is very possibly Buffett's best work to date.” With his three previous No. 1 bestsellers, Buffett is one of only six authors in the history of the New York Times Bestseller List to have reached No. 1 on both their fiction and non-fiction lists. A Salty Piece Of Land has remained in the Top 10 of the New York Times Bestseller List for six weeks.

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band in concert is promoted and produced by House of Blues Concerts in association with MGM Grand, “The City of Entertainment.”

For room availability and event ticket information about the MGM Grand, call (800) 929-1111 or (702) 891-7777 or log onto the World Wide Web at www.mgmgrand.com.

The Arena offers comfortable seating for as many as 16,800 with excellent sightlines and state-of-the-art acoustics, lighting and sound. I don't think Coconuts is going either. But we still have almost 3 months to talk her into it.

And don't forget, the date of the show is 6 days before my birthday. We need a big celebration, at my age I don't know how many I have left.

San Remo is fine to stay in, stayed there 3 times now. 2 for one happy hour specials and you don't have to hike thru miles of casino to get anywhere. Great location too. Prices probably won't be as good when it officially turns to the Hooters Casino tho.

Good luck with tix everyone...I'll miss being in Vegas with all of you! :(
