How do you buy tickets for the Tampa show? Ticketmaster? My biggest fear is that we get the hotel, air, car, etc booked, and are NOT able to get tickets!!!

Say a prayer, cross your fingers, and be on the ticketmonster (TicketMaster) web site the second they go on sale. It'll sell out for sure. So if you want seats that don't require you to bring your own oxygen have the preliminaries out of the way before the bell rings!
I agree with the previous post that no matter how far you have to go, it's worth the miles. Besides, what a better time to go sub-tropical than February. You can always take in Ybor City and the Dali Museum in Tampa. Or, even do a side trip to WDW.

You'll get tickets. You'll probably get them the day they go on sale at Ticketmaster. If not there's a ticket exchange section here were people sell tickets at face value. My wife and I literally waited till a week before the Tampa show to make the decision. I had the airfare, hotel and car booked first. I talked to 3 people with good tickets to sell at face value, but ended up going with some VIP tickets on E-Bay.

2004 we flew to Vegas to see Jimmy at Flamingo and then drove to Anaheim for the concert and then drove back to Vegas for more fun.
We drove from home to Houston and then to Dallas for the Texas Stadium show...it was over 6 hours drive one way.
We flew to Chicago and drove to the Indianapolis CBIP and Buffett show and then drove to Alpine for the show there and then drove back to Chicago.
I'd say it's time to go again!!! (We also drove to two state HOG rallys and to Sturgis, SD.)
Go for it.

mapquest says Boston (2990 mi) is farther than Orlando (2515 mi)

either way you go, that's a lot of miles

The longest trip we ever made was from W-S, NC to Manassas (?sp) in VA -- about 6 hours....however, planning the Ft. Lauderdale/Jacksonville shows next month.....that's what makes Parrotheads fun!! We are always up for an adventure...(or a road trip)!!

From Philly, I've flown to Minneapolis and Tampa. I've also driven to Great Woods more than once and flew up to Boston this year for the Friday Fenway show. We were in Boston for less than 24 hours, but it was a blast!
Traveling to see Buffett is great. Meet new parrotheads, see a new venue, and you have a story to tell the next time a thread like this is posted

Well as Jimmy stopped coming to Toronto, Canada in the mid 90's then I/we decided that going to see him was the only way...
So I/we have gone from Toronto and seen Jimmy in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas - not once but twice!
I/we have flown to New Orleans to see Jimmy once.
And I/we have flown to Florida 3 times (to see 4 shows as we saw both Orlando and Tampa in Feb 2003).
If you get the opportunity and have the finances I say "Hop on that plane and go see a show!" and definitely go to Newks!!

You live in Milwaukee and you're thinking about going to Tampa in February?
I can't see any reason not to!
I flew from DC to St. Barth's in 1999 to see him perform at the 50th anniversary of Le Select. Awesome experience.

That's the one I was trying to remember. When I went to Costa Rica in '99 I was seriously considering making that part of the trip but it just wasn't to be. In the years ahead I hope Buffett will find time to do more of these type of gigs.
