Home Invasion-Autographed Buffett Guitar

A story on the news this evening in Oklahoma City. A man opened his door and was greeted with a 45 caliber weapon and a note that said that he had been hired to "get back" an autographed Jimmy Buffett guitar.
They tied up the man and his wife and searched his home but didn't find the autographed JB guitar. They did take five other guitars that the man owned. Evidently, he is a musician. He contends he never did own a JB autographed guitar.
Police are also investigating a similar complaint filed the day before from a man that said his JB autographed guitar was stolen.
Police are wondering if the two stories are related.

Must be bedtime... this is how I interpreted the title of this thread...
Home Invasion-Man looking for Autographed Buffett Guitar
Home Invasion Man = a producer or employee of a home-makover type of reality show
looking for Autographed Buffett Guitar = looking to buy one, for the show, to serve as decor for the newly made over tropical abode!
And I don't even watch those shows! (even though I've often thought, how cool would that be?! I saw something on MTV where Tommy Lee assisted in transforming a fanatic's garage into a Tommy Lee room)

Funny thing is, I thought the same thing too.
And what is really weird is that a few months ago, I was on a show called Design Invasion. They came in and redecorated our sunrooom to be a Hawaiian Paradise. They also made a big deal about me being a parrothead.
I was gonna be real bummed if someone was getting a JB guitar for their new room (although we did get a kegerator).

That's awesome!!! The guitar would be cool, but ya gotta love the kegerator! Was it televised?

Yeah, that was me!!!!
I was sure (and my wife was very nervous) that the room was going to be parrothead paradise. When it was toned down, I assumed they were not going to play up the parrothead angle. When I saw the show, I was shocked to see how much they focused on Jimmy and my "minor" obsession.
It was a lot of fun and the room is great. I get a lot more use out of the kegerator than I would from a guitar!!!
If I know when it will be on again, I'll post it.

I've always toyed with the idea of getting a kegerator, but I'm afraid that it would drastically increase my alcoholic consumption. Kinda like, I don't normally eat cookies, but if I know there are some in the other room on the counter, then I can't stop thinking about them.
If I knew that the kegerator was just in the other room, ready to serve up that frosty goodness with just a simple pull of the tap, I'm afaid the temptation would be too much.
Do you find yourself drinking more than you normally would because its there? Just curious.

Not a LOT more than usual. I usually don't drink much at home during the week, but now I might have a quick pilsner to wet my whistle (like tonight). And it is great when you don't want to open a full beer.
Only problem is I don't buy a lot of other beer in bottles so there is less variety in my house.

What do brand of beer do you usually have on tap? Do you alternate or stick with one favorite? I think that it is supposed to be actually more economical out of a keg as opposed to buying it by the bottle or can.
How tough is it to clean the lines? Do you ever have the beer go stale before you can finish the keg (though I doubt that'd be much of a problem at my household?)

Cleaning is a snap. If you purchase one of the small personal kegs you can put a cleaning solution in it and run it thru. then clean water for a rinse.

Does anyone have really good insight on how to convert a fridge into a kegerator? We have one that is ready to go. I don't have a clue though. I'm sure BG knows, but I'm just curious what other BNrs have done.
Is this worthy of it's own thread perhaps?

Believe me, I've considered that as well. Done a lot of research and it seems that this website has the best prices on conversion kits. Really doesn't seem that it'd be that tough to do if you have a drill and a basic tool kit.

Sweet! You should start a kegerator thread. Thanks HP.
