50% tequila / 50% margarita mix......drink enough of that and you have a good buzz going quickly! Should be able to get $5 a glass....especially since it's for charity!buffettbride wrote:Huh? What's a 50/50?PHAW Webmistress wrote:haven't read the whole thread (conserving energy and using my time wisely here) but people love money so my suggestion would be a 50/50 especially since you said it was a "quickie" type of thing......

BB, our best fundraiser at work was always chocolate bars. We would get them on sale and sell them in our work kitchen/coffee station (honor system with an envelope which someone locked in their desk each night)
This always raised bunches of $....Especially if you have a variety of candy. There's something about work/stress that brings on chocolate cravings. And our candy bars were cheaper and fresher than the vending machine...
Oh and a 50/50 is where you collect money in a raffle and keep 50% for the charity and give 50% to the winner of the drawing...

Have a GUMBOTHON !! Like a big fundraiser where people pay admission to vote on the best Gumbo. That way you raise money, I bet ya get local restaurants to get involved because it's a fund raiser, have it under a tent or a hall and this family can go have someone painting kids faces, etc...most papers would probably run an ad free or very cheap for you. I've been working on putting one of these together in my area.

Some times I feel like a propeller, spin, spin outtta control. I don't who is up on the throttle, boy I wish they would let it go....

It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

How bout you organize a group trip to Vegas? Get group rates on hotel, airfare, etc.....than package it up and add $50 a head to the total for charity. It would still be cheaper than most people could go on their own....so they'd surely jump on board. (I understand the weekend of 4/9 might be a good one to plan this around!)

But that would require hanging out with work people in Vegas. Can't do that.dean_siu wrote:How bout you organize a group trip to Vegas? Vegas is a big enough city....you could easily lose them! Some people I know come here and avoid relatives while they are in town!buffettbride wrote:But that would require hanging out with work people in Vegas.
