Musicians have such an influence on the fashion that people wear. Madonna had all the girls dressing like her, the guys were all trying to dress like whoever it was they listened to and so on and so forth.

Well.......here it is 2005 and I still dress like my favorite musician. Shorts, t-shirt, flip-flops, and a good fitting hat. Can anyone guess who my favorite musician is??
Kenny Chesney?

I loved scrunchy socks.
I have a son who wrestles in high school. At his match the other day there was a guy with those multi-colored stretchy poofy like pants that weight lifter types wore in the 80's. You know what I mean? He didn't have a mesh top on or a Frankie Relax t-shirt with them though. But he did have a bit of a mullet. I was cracking up and wishing I had a camera phone. He was quite serious about his look. I'm guessing he's single.

Let's see...other 80's phenomenon...

Culture Club

"Pegging" your jeans...you know, folding the ankle over and rolling them. Or was that more the 90's?

Blue eyeshadow.

yeah, I gotta admit, I wore the white pants, pastel green t-shirt and black cotton sports jacket with deck shoes & no socks :-?

but only a few times!!!! It just didn't feel as good as my buttonfly levis, plaid flannel shirt with the black sleeveless t-shirt, Texas steer work boots and the red or blue hankerchief in the back pocket

Did you ever tie the hankercheif around your thigh? I remember my sisters and her friends doing that.

We can have an 80's thread without at least giving the mullet an honorable mention.

I had a cute, gay, pair of pinstripe blue jeans and a pair of those gay grey suede fold down boots that looked like something that a rebel elf would wear :o

Do you still have these rebel elf tendencies or was it just a phase?

You could wear them with tights. That might work.
Here's a fellow who has some rebel elf tendencies. And he doesn't want to grow up either. Maybe he's a phan too.
