I noticed that for the Vegas show, Ticketmaster requires you to pick up your tickets at the window the day of the show with a photo ID.

The good thing is that it discourages scalping, but I have major reservations about this. I would love to fly to Vegas and see Jimmy; I did it once before, and it was a blast. But, this is an 1800 mile trip, and it's nearly three months away. If I buy tickets planning on going and then am unable to clear my schedule, I am screwed! In the past, I've had no problem with this because I know that if I can't clear my schedule, I can always come here and sell them to a phellow parrothead. But, this takes away the option. While the idea behind this is good (discourage scalping), TM really needs to consider people who buy tickets, are planning on coming, and have something come up. They need to have a way where you can assign the tickets to someone else.

Is anyone else here considering waiting to be sure they can go before buying tickets?

Where did you see this at? I see no notice of this on the ticketmaster page?? I hope it's not the case as handing out 15,000 tickets at the venue on the day of show would be a nightmare!

I think I may have missed 2 key words when I read it the first time. On the Ticketmaster page under "Additional Information," it says, "ONLY the card holder with photo ID may pickup will call tickets. Arrive early to avoid lines and entry delays."

When I read it the first time, I did not notice the key words, "Will Call." They recently did this with the New Orleans show, and when I saw that, I immediately assumed that it was the same way.

Now, I'm guessing that they will do ticket distriubtion the normal way-unless will call is the only option for picking up tickets. Let's hope it is done normally.

Don't worry this wording appears before every on-sale in vegas. It WILL be on sale on-line and it WON"T be just will-call.

They are not will call tickets. They only do that if you select will call tickets.

I had a situation come up once where I never received the tickets from Ticketmaster. I live in Oklahoma and the show was in Minneapolis, where my family lives. As fate would have it, my girlfriend got seriously ill days before the show and we couldn't go. I kept calling TM to find out what I do about the lost tickets because I thought I'd at least give them to my mother and brother. Of course they wouldn't do anything until 48 hours before the event. They told me my family could pick them up at Will Call, but that they would need a letter from me stating I am giving them my tickets. I also had to send my mother a copy of my ID and credit card. A real hassle but they did get to go (after standing in line at the Target Center for three hours).
