Should this happen, Jimmy's Feb 26 show would be a casuality..... The St Pete Times Forum, where his shows have been the last 10+ years has Yanni scheduled that evening. Any thoughts on where and when it would move to? Please don't tell me the Sun Dome!

Trouble for Tampa Show???
On Feb 4, there is a hearing regarding the Ford Amphitheater.... the neighbors claim the noise is too loud and want to close it down. This has been going on for 6 mts since they opened.

Yes...Raymond James would be an awesome place!!! I think the Monster Truck show will be over by then!! LOL
Actually I would be in favor of seeing him live on Clearwater Beach! Would bring me back to 1976 when he was just some guy strumming his guitar singing a funny song about Margaritas while we played volley ball in the sand at a place called Hoochies on Maderia Beach! 6 months later he open for the Eagles! Been hooked ever since!

The same thing happened here in Richmond too. They opened an Amphitheater at the Fairgrounds in '92 and they had a bunch of great shows there the 1st year(including JimmyToplessRideFL wrote:On Feb 4, there is a hearing regarding the Ford Amphitheater.... the neighbors claim the noise is too loud and want to close it down. Re: Trouble for Tampa Show???
I am sorry, but my attitude toward homeowners who live around a concert venue is, "If you didn't fight it to get it sited somewhere else, or you moved in after it was built, "STFU". It's there, and you can complain about drunken half-wits using your lawn as a urinal; you don't get to complain about the noise because it is a part of the landscape like the trees."1more wrote:The same thing happened here in Richmond too. There were even several complaints filed about a B-52's concert that was cancelled 3 days before
Before long, the concerts were fewer and fewer and now there are none

These same people don't complain about the 2 Nascar races there every year because they charge people $20-$30 to park in their yardsRinglingRingling wrote:I am sorry, but my attitude toward homeowners who live around a concert venue is, "If you didn't fight it to get it sited somewhere else, or you moved in after it was built, "STFU". Re: Trouble for Tampa Show???
see, that's just "scalpin' NASCAR reta.. fans who have too much money and not enough sense". That's a fine tradition going back to the start of the "sport" where they charged you to watch a bunch of toothless hicks drive around in a circle.1more wrote:These same people don't complain about the 2 Nascar races there every year because they charge people $20-$30 to park in their yardsRinglingRingling wrote:I am sorry, but my attitude toward homeowners who live around a concert venue is, "If you didn't fight it to get it sited somewhere else, or you moved in after it was built, "STFU". Tampa Tail Gate
Tampa seems to be somewhat of a risk. New venue means no one really knows how they will enforce their no grills/alcohol policy, and they claim that the parking lot only opens 2 hrs before show. Again, no historical proof either way. Has anyone here been to any concerts there yet?

I have been there... nice place.... great acoustics.... the venue is owned by the state, and I think that concerts bring in a LOT of money to them from the parking and stuff so they should be cool....

you'd like to think that even if the venue WERE shut down or cut back, the grace period would be at least a couple of months away....

taken from the FAQ of the Tampa Amp. site.
What CANNOT be brought into the facility?
For the safety and comfort of guests, employees, the artist and the community, the following items can not be brought in to the facility.
* Animals (except service animals): Animals are unpredictable and may cause harm to guests.
* Signs or banners: They cause major sight problems for guests sitting behind them. They are also flammable which poses a safety concern.
* Fireworks: Due to the threat of fire and injury.
* Food/Beverages: Containers can be used as projectiles and have the potential to cause serious injury. A variety of food and beverage items are sold inside the venue. Drinking fountains can be found throughout the facility. Guests are allowed to bring in one unopened water bottle on most shows. If a guest must bring in something for medical reasons, security personnel can check the item with the first aid staff.
* Lawn Chairs: During specific shows, lawn chairs are available for rent. These chairs are consistently sized and do not hinder the view of other guests sitting behind them.
* Weapons or Sharp Objects of any kind: This includes pocket knives, wallet chains, tools and some jewelry.
* Laser pointers: These are distracting to the artist and other guests.
How is traffic managed?
At many concerts there are thousands of people trying to get into the amphitheatre at the same time, which can create backups on the surrounding roadways. Although Ford Amphitheatre cannot control traffic flow on the surrounding roadways, parking lots and plaza concession stands usually open two hours before the start of each concert and it is suggested that concertgoers arrive as early as possible to avoid traffic tie-ups.

Is tailgating allowed in your parking lot?
If your definition of "tailgating" is drinking alcoholic beverages, then it is not allowed. Guests using grills or having picnics in the parking area create a safety concern and disrupt foot and auto traffic flow.

I have heard that Jimmy buys permits for his PH's in venues that do not allow it. Either way what are they going to do? Arrest 19K people? I don't think so. However take note of when the parking lot opens. Two hours before showtime. One way to change that is have all of us show up early, as we would anyway. Thus causing a traffic jam and they have to let us
