I like him and I remember listening to him on Doctor Demento maybe even before the 80's.

Good correction Cap
I remember hearing him on the Demento show before I was out of HS

Now I'm wondering, what became of Doctor Demento?!?!

I think the Dr. passed away. I thought I remembered Al talking about it on a bio show. We had Dr. Demento albums growing up with all kinds of odd stuff on them.

I have a copy of that 45 I got from an older sibling stashed away in my vinyl collection somewhere. On the flipside everything is written backwards and the music is bassackwards too.

John Mellencamp has always been a favorite. I have a tattoo on my right arm that came from his Uh-Huh cd. I got to sing with him on stage in March of '92 in Johnson City, Tn. That was awesome.

I still like him alot, but he p*** me off with his politics. I don't want to hear his or any other musicians politics. That is not what I buy tickets to hear. Buffett, like Mellencamp, is a liberal democrat, but I can never recall hearing JB say anything political at one of his shows and for that I am thankful.

As far as my favorite 80's bands go.......

IRON MAIDEN (They're still great)
TESLA
RATT
MOTLEY CRUE (They are not still great)
LITA FORD
JUDAS PRIEST
QUEENSRYCHE

also guns n' roses (late 80's, early 90's) and ac/dc
