Yeah, speakin' of that stupid commercial... Am I the only one that found that to be offensive? To me it felt like the multi-million dollar making prima-donna was taunting his fans. I mean I have to believe that was not the intent behind it, but it sure feels that way every time I see it. :-?
I think it is funnier than s***. Kind of like the Farve armchair QB commercial last year. I actually don't take it as taunting as much as cheering.

I wouldn't say that it was offensive, just plain stupid.

Yeah, but the point I'm trying to make is that unlike Favre's commercial Manning comes off looking like a pompus jack ass. Not that I have a problem with that being a New England fan and all. :D

I bet he even wrote the script. I'm sure the ad agency for Mastercard didn't come up with it. I am a Colts fan. I really don't like the Patriots, but I would never make a comment about Tom Brady if I didn't know what he is like as a person off the field. Peyton is the last person in the NFL that thinks he is better than anyone else because of how much money he makes. And in defense of all athletes contracts, most of them have nothing to do with the process. It is all about the agent, the owner, and the players union trying to make sure everyone is compensated fairly.

The Greatest of all time I definately don't think so. He seems to let the pressure get to him in big games. Now this does not take away from the fact that his cut that meat chant was hysterical, and he picks up some serious points for singing the Mac Macnally written song "back where I come from" with Kenny Chesney ain front of a packed house in Tennesse. So in conclusion Peyton definately not a sissy as this first topc first implied, but he is not the greatest qb of all time either.

There is one thing that I am not sure anyone understands. The pressure did not get to Peyton Manning. He didn't make any bad throws in the game on Sunday. The receivers dropped passes they normally catch. Fumbles don't help. Neither of which are pressure getting to Manning. The Pats didn't beat Manning. Tom Brady didn't beat Peyton Manning. The PATS beat the COLTS. It is still a team game. Once again, stats are for individuals, Wins are for Teams. Also, before anyone jumps on me for the bad throw comment, I know a lot of throws looked low. I'm sure that is intentional considering the wind and the weather. Keep the ball down to avoid interceptions.
Manning certainly didnt play GREAT either. Someoneone that is supposedly as good as him should be raising their games in the playoffs and Manning didnt do it. Averaging over 3 td passes a game and he throws none against the Pats. I wouldnt call that a great game. And if the pressure isnt getting to him than how do you explain that this happens every year. For the past ten years (including college) Manning has not shown up for big games.

Have any of you who are bashing this guy, or any pro football player for that matter. Ever stepped on the field?

INternal joke with me and my co-workers. No one claimed to be a Pats fan 5 years ago. Now they sure claim to be.

Well, not an NFL field if that's what you mean, but then again I never once knocked his ability to throw a football or read a defense. All I said was that he had a long, skinny horse face and that he comes off like a douchebag in his commercial. Not sure how you question applies...?

Nope... Certainly not a "bandwagon fan". Been a season ticket holder since 92' and I was only 22 then. Believe me when I say... "I've lived through some hard times". That's why it's so sweet now. :D

PS - You're from Idaho or sumthin' like that, right? Just out of curiosity... What team do most people in Idaho root for? :-?

Maybe we can just finish this thread by simply stating that Peyton Manning is NOT a Sissy. In 7 seasons, he has been off the field for 1 play due to injury. A broken jaw. Patch it up and play. If Peyton Manning is a sissy, then the only player in the NFL who is not a sissy is Brett Favre. So, whoever started this thread, should start a new one titled , "Every NFL player minus Favre is a Sissy." Or, maybe, "The Colts played a bad football game". Wait, one more, "Give credit to the Pats D for stopping the Colts offense."

You're right - comparing mex to the Special Olympians is definitely not fair to them. I'm sorry.
