I was wondering why a single hadn't been released with the ablbum coming out next week. Guess that explains it.
Im not a member of the fanclub but it was posted in the From Kenny section of the message board there.
Thanks. That was the first I had heard of that.

Another St. John connection is that he has bartended a couple times at Duffy's Love Shack and is seen here tatooing a women at the Shack.

First let me say...I am a KC fan... a HUGE KC fan! I just have more musical respect for Buffett.

When I said what I said it was because in my view KC's songs about Islands or whatever are inspired by his success. I have seen simular posts about "striking while the iron is hot." Buffett's "eariler music...ie when he was 37 or younger" was not motivated by his successes but rather what he wanted to do.

Those that say this album won't have any country radio airplay.... I bet guitars and tiki bars will be playing on country radio everywhere this summer! But I think Be as you are will be released as a single first.

I agree that KC concerts have a certain buffett feel to them...but I think comparing them is like comparing apples and organes...they are both fruitcakes...but VERY different.
Uhmm your new so I wont smack to hard.....but learn to read! Its already been reported by Kenny and his Label , there will be no singles from this Cd. They will release 1 more from WTSGD and then the next single wil be from Kennys other new cd that with hit the stores in November, its more like NSNSNP
I just heard Guitars and Tiki Bars on the radio!! :D
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

I did find this;
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=s ... chesney_dc

The label is not treating "Be As You Are" as a typical release. A video has been released for the song "Old Blue Chair," but surprisingly, BNA does not have any plans to work a single from the album to radio.

"When you have an artist like Kenny who tours eight months out of the year and has records that last a year-and-a-half, there's never a right time," RCA Label Group chairman Joe Galante says of releasing a single from a specialty album. "So we made a decision that we really couldn't release a single, because no matter what we did, it would land somewhere in the middle of a record we had."
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend

I don't know about singles released to radio but the video to "Old Blue Chair" was premiered last week.
"Old Blue Chair" was originally on "When The Sun Goes Down" CD. I assumed the video was in conjuction with that CD.

there probably no more than 300 yards away from eachother, maybe even less. It takes probably 4 or 5 minutes to get there by boat.

They have 2 bars, one in St. John and one in St. Thomas. That pic is from St. John. I have never been there, but I'll take Caribe's word that they are very close to each other, and they both mention the ferry dock.

St. John Location
Downtown Cruz Bay
One block from the ferry dock

St. Thomas Location
6500 Red Hook Plaza
St. Thomas, Virgin Islands

Located in Red Hook Plaza on the East End of St. Thomas, opposite the St. John Ferry Dock

Bob Marley didn't invent reggae. Was he there at the time of it's inception? Sure, but no one person is responsible for it's creation. I think the same is true of Buffett's "drunken, Caribbean, rock n' roll music" but he is the most visible person in the genre (if you can call it that).

honestly, thats about how far it is. . . .i've been there 4 times. from the eastern end of St. Thomas to Cruz Bay in St. John it takes probably like 5 minutes on a boat. . . . . .its very quick. Ofcourse if you're leaving from Charlotte Amalie, its more like 15 minutes, bue thats because Charlotte Amalie is closer to the western side of Saint John. Trust me on this one, i know what im talking about.

From the Ritz Carlton in Saint Thomas (one of the nicest hotels ive ever been been to, absolutley gorgeous in every way!), saint John is probably no longer that 3-4 football feilds away . . . honestly, it's a stone's throw away, very close

Bocanut, have u even been there before?

Here is something funny I just caught.
In the original version of "Old Blue Chair" when he's singing about passing out in the chair he says "from too much Malibu and diet" and in the version on Be As You Are he says "Cruzan and diet" .....so I dial up Cruzan rum on the email machine in front of me and I'll be darned. Cruzan is a "proud sponsor of Kenny Chesney's 2005 tour"!
When I heard it yesterday I kept thinking Cruzan doesn't sound right so I listened to the WTSGD version and just laughed.
I guess Malibu didn't want to pony up the $$.
Or he changed his preference in rum.

yeah i noticed that too, but it also makes more sense that he would put cruzan there and have him as his sponsers because Cruzan is made and bottled in the virgin islands on Saint Croix, which isn't too far from Kenny's island of Saint John (if thats where he lives).
