The Stones sounded good there and the screen is huge. Heck we all know what he looks like right? And there are alot of bathrooms and the seats are pretty good too. This could be good!!!!!! :D
I usually like being down Cape Cod for the 4th but I guess if I am going to miss it for anything, a Buffett concert would be it.
i'm usually on the cape for the 4th,it's only a hour drive to gw or gillette.
on a clear road...... could be much longer in July 4th traffic..... (but still worth it  )
true, but if concert dates are true to form.and he does thursday & saturday.i'm coming from connecticut on thursday straight to gw.after the show the drive to the cape should be no traffic.the saturday show .most people will be on the cape for the weekend already.the only traffic there could be the sat to sat renters.i don't get on route 6.i go through mashpee and over the bourne bridge.the traffic won't be that bad.i've been doing it for years and haven't had any problems.

If things do hold to form, Jimmy's been in the DC area over the 4th the last 2 years. Don't know if that means he will be there again this year, but he does seem somewhat follow the same pattern every year.

Then that would mean he would be coming to Great Woods Labor Day Weekend :-?

even over the Bourne, getting off the Cape on a summer Saturday is a real b*tch lately...... :-? (you'll just have to leave really early, and get to the lot really early...... 8) )

Cuz, if I had to put money on it, I'd bet it's gonna be Wrigley on Labor Day Weekend......

(but maybe we'll get Chicago's "normal" dates, the weekend before Labor Day Weekend.....)

it depends on the weather,if its nice people stay a little longer if it's not a nice day then there is travel.but again i never drove off the cape on saturdays unless it was to greatwoods.again traffic wasn't bad.i've been doing it almost 20 years now.what i ment by true to form is the tuesday ,thursday & saturday show schedule.he wasn't true to form on where he was on labor day.either way lets hope he's playing somewhere in the area soon.and a holiday weekend would be a bonus

I heard through the grapevine that Buffett will not be playing Great Woods this year. Saturday, July 2, and/or Sunday, July 3, 2005 @ Gillette Stadium seems to be the probable date of his MA show.

i would love to see 2 shows at gillette stadium.tickets would be a lot easier to get with about 60,000 each night.but,i don't think he would do 2 shows.and,i don't think he would go back to back nights.i wonder if he does one at gillette, if he would do one in connecticut. the meadows or at the uconn stadium where springsteen played 2 years ago.

and just one show, no doubt, if it's at Gillette.... damned golf...... the people at TWEETER (formerly known to us who loved it as Great Woods) have shot themselves in the proverbial foot, and I hope it costs them LOADS of money.....

it has to hurt, those shows are automatic sellouts.but,i'm sure GW is getting a good chunck of change to use there lot during the golf tournament.don't get me wrong i'm a golf addict,i play abot 40 rounds a year, but if you are going to build a course for a major sponsered golf tournament.make sure there is parking around the course.the buick classic in connecticut is one of the top drawing tournaments in the country (2nd to the phoenix open)there is plenty of parking around the course.

The thing abut the golf tournament is that they are only using 1 of the parking lots so they can still have a show any of those days labor day weekend but not one that is as big as buffett with tailgating all day. Clear Channel is in a win win situation because they get paid by the TPC of Boston and they still can make money from a show. Also no matter where Buffett plays Clear Channel will be the promotor so even if they don't use their venue they still make money.
