hey board!
About two years ago, I saw the album "Songs You Know By Heart" but it had a sticker on it that said it was plated in 24 karat gold. I did not buy it, because I already had that album. I have yet to see another one like this. Has anyone seen this?

Now that you mention I remember seeing something like that... I didn't buy it for the same reason as you.

That was my first Buffett purchase several years ago at the M'ville Key West. I paid the extra bucks for the "gold" for souvinier purposes, but it has front and back photos and a booklet that opens up -- no lyrics inside, just pictures of his previous albums/CDs. I have no idea if the sound is any better.

That is actually an MCA reissue of SYKBH as part of thier "Ultimate Master Disc" collection. They also reissued Changes in Latitudes they same way.

Also a company called Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs released both White Sport Coat and Son of a Son in 24kt gold editions.

The sound on those is superb if you have a very high end system. I have a Cream cd like that. They are hard to find these days.

I have the CILCIA cd like that. I can't tell the difference in sound, but bought it since this is my favorite CD. Didn't get the other one since I already had it and there didn't seem to be a large enough difference to make me buy another one.

I saw it in a store but did not want to spend the extra $$$$ on it.......

If anyone feels like digging, I'm fairly certain there there a thread about this (or at least a "gold" album) within the last year or so.
