My hunch is that this would be in place of the Tweeter Center show, not the Alpine show.

Hotel & bus???

Post by peajay »

Ok, so I must be stayin in de wrong places. Which hotel do I want to stay at? I've been going over to the casinos in East Chicago, not bad but definitely a bit of a haul.

And if JB is asking, I'm up for both Tweeter in June and Wrigley in September.
and we used to sing Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-ti-da

For the Wrigley show? There is a Days Inn in Lincoln Park (Diversey Ave I believe) which is decent and only about 7 or 8 blocks from Wrigley. That's the closest hotel I know of...

That Days INN is probably the best place to stay at. There is also another Hotel at about 3400 N. Broadway that is even closer. Hopefully I will be living back in Wrigley by then where I can see the park. If thats the case, all 30,000+ can stay with me.

Ugh... I don't even know why I get sucked into this, but...

Why would anyone speculate on whether or not he's going to play Alpine or not? Just because Alpine wasn't mentioned in the media reports about the Wrigley show, doesn't have anything to do with the probability of JB doing a regular summer tour. He did a regular summer tour last year and he played Fenway... yes, he skipped Great Woods, but that could be for numerous reasons that none of us know nor will ever know! Why speculate already, when there is no tangible reasons to begin theorizing? It's January. Ugh!

Good point.......He always plays Chicago area and Milwaukee area....but so many people think of Alpine as a Chicago area venue that they are assuming he wouldn't play there this year.......I know he played Fenway instead of GW last year.but traditionally that area has only gotten one stop per summer tour.....We are lucky enough too get two.....

When do you think tickets are going to go on sale. I know this show will probably be the last leg of the tour, but if anyone had to guess when would you say it's going to happen.

I got reservations today at the Cass Hotel. It's an older hotel downtown by Mich Ave, but I figure we will just jump on the Red line and head up to the concert. For only 84.00 per night you can't beat it!

I only say so because the fenway tickets were a tad later last year. But honestly why speculate. Am I right or am I right.

Jimmy playing Wrigley has nothing to do with Alpine, u can bet Jimmy will be at Alpine, the largest guaranteed soldout crowd/payday on the summer tour (35,000 the largest outdoor concert venue in the country).

Tinley Park is gonna lose it's usual two dates, not Alpine, and it's one Saturday night JB show.

The Number for alpine valley is actually higher---probably more close to 50,000.

With Tinley Park coming in at 40,000 per a show

So in reality it's not all too much of a difference in crowd size... you just get the people going only because it's Wrigley Field, not because it's Jimmy... so in the end, the Parrotheads who would go regardless of the location are the ones getting screwed

My earlier post addressed exactly these kind of posts. There's absolutely no reason to theorize whether or not he's going to play Alpine or Tinley Park. He might play both, he might play neither, he still might not even play Wrigley Field! The final decision hasn't been made. None of us have a clue what kind of deals his management will negotiate with these theaters this summer. Previous years especially don't give us a rationale for speculation.
