Five somewhat related questions....here goes...

1. Number of jobs you've held
8 jobs in 15 years

2. Biggest raise, by percent
71% by changing jobs.

3. Have you ever quit
Yep!

4. Have you ever been fired
Nope!

5. Worst mistake, while on the job
Probably spending too much time on the Internet
or completely forgetting to write a document for a software system and having to do it al lin 1 weekend (normally takes about 4-5 weeks).

5. Slicing off the tip of my finger with a meat slicer. Other than that I don't make mistakes. I'm perfect. It is everybody else that is wrong!

100+% when I changed jobs last time. Probably 15% at one place.

Yes... note to self: never go back to telemarketing or being a headhunter

Hmmm, that's a tough one. I can't really think of huge mistakes other than just p*** off certain customers.

Yep... Worked a summer job in a paper mill as a slave and walked out mid-shift.

Yep... Because of #5.

I was 16 working at Burger King and thought I could get away with ringing up the occasional order in my head and taking the cash and putting it straight in my pocket.. Like any idiot 16 year old with a scheme, I got caught and got the boot... (Stole about $300 first though! )

Ran over a rotting bloated deer carcass with a blade plow. Had to scrape the rotting flesh out from in between the blades. I didn't know a human body could hold so much puke.

Can't tell ya ..... but the second biggest is spending too much time on BN.

Probably about 30-40% when I switched from a state gov't job
to a corporate job in the same field

All but two!

Once (so far )

Letting them make me a manager a couple of times.
(I can't even manage myself, nevermind anyone else!)

Being too cavalier about how well I was doing my job.
Although it was long ago, I never get complacent or lackadaisical.

1. 15 (?) in 39 years. Longest - 10 years as BJ dealer at Stardust in Vegas Shortest - 4 mos 12 days working for the judge from hell in a municipal court

In the radio business there are two types of people. Those who have been fired and those who will be fired.

(Getting caught) particpating in payola. Or no wait. Go back to question one. Went to a party with a bunch of high schoolers that also worked for my dad ( remember I was in 6th grade ) and getting smashed. Needless to say there were a few people who lost there job the next day.

Not double checking my employees work - she computed my pay raise wrong and I was "over" paid for 6 months - embarrassing because I was the finance director

I have a few different roles ... but this year I clock up 25 years with the same employer (not sure wether to or )

Going in drunk and doing my filing by shredding it and getting caught

I tried counting but I'm not sure I can remember all of them. It's at least 15 since I graduated from high school 35 years ago.

Yes, several times.

Does being downsized after a merger count? That happened twice.

5. Worst mistake, while on the job.
Quitting without even starting to look for another job first. Luckily, they asked me to come back.
