Best way to get tickets delivered?
Got a question for all of you phine pholks out there:
If I'm purchasing tickets via ticketmaster, and I can't go to the show, what method of delivery should I use to make sure the tickets are transferable to another party and easiest on both the buyer and seller?
I think for "will call" you need an ID and credit card of the person buying. What about e-mail option? Mailing them (do they come early enough)? Thanks!

Do not do ticketfast (TM emails you a file and you print them on your home printer) unless you are absolutely certain you are going to make the show. NO ONE will buy these if you can't make it because there is no way for people to know that you didn't print off 10 copies of the same tickets. They scan tickets at the door and only the first person who presents the copy of the ticket will get in. I had tix like this and even offered to go thru the gate BEHIND the buyer (for half price) and they wouldn't do it. I then said, pay me inside! Nope. Fricking scalpers wouldn't even take them. Ate the damn things. I'll never ticketfast again.ragtopW wrote:listen to some past mistakes...
Take the print out tix option if its there..
I know others have different stories to tell, but I have never had a problem having the tickets mailed to me by regular mail, and they have always come well in advance. Sometimes you even get an email saying they have been printed so you know to be on the watch for them. But do remember that they come in an envelope that does not indicate that there are tickets so don't toss it thinking it is junk mail!

I really wish I had read your post before purchasing my Vegas tickets. I think I can go, but I am not sure. Ticketmaster "recommends" that you use the ticketfast system. I have always used regular mail in the past and I have never had a problem. This time I used ticketfast. If I can't go, it sounds like I will eat these tickets or give them away. thanks for the advice. I will use it in the future.Y-NO-9-O wrote:Do not do ticketfast (TM emails you a file and you print them on your home printer) unless you are absolutely certain you are going to make the show. ticketfast is great if you're going to use the tickets.
it's still okay if you're going to sell the tickets to people you know, who trust you not to screw them.
but to sell them to unknowns is tough, because as Y-NO-9-O points out, people don't know if you're going to screw them over.....
however, if people know each other well enough, it does make it easier to transfer the tickets. I bought tickets at face value for Jones Beach last year from a BNer. Althought we've never met in person, we "know" each other well enough on BN to be pretty sure neither would screw the other. I paypal'ed him the money and he emailed me the tickets an hour later. Done. But there's definitely a level of trust necessary there.

I know that I will use my tickets or sell them to someone that trusts me. Last year, in Cincinnati, I had extra ticketfast tickets that I sold in the parking lot without problem.
would have been.
