looks like there might just might be some one from Idaho this year..
If these dates stand up...

Alpine's always the Saturday after Indy (at least, it has been for at least the last 5 years). I don't know 100% that the dates for Indy are good, but I would make a huge bet that Alpine will follow the Indy show.

I agree that Indianapolis does NOT deserve two shows over other venues. Deer Creek, er, Verizon Wireless Can You Hear Me Now Amphitheater is a disaster. Its too big. The sound, even by amphitheater standards is awful. And, then there is the traffic. If you don't agree with the size and sound issues, you certainly can't deny the 20,000 people on a 2-lane road traffic problem.
Why oh why 2 nights in Indy? And sorry Coconuts dear

- Jimmy loves every city. He says so at every show. And he sells out at nearly every venue. So, why not give one of those nights to Toronto or Nashville?
Okay, continue the heated debate in 3...2...1...

By the way, this has nothing to do with my feelings for Hoosiers or Indianapolis.
Indianapolis is one of my favorite cities in the country. Its clean. Its easy to get around in. The people are extremely nice. A great big little city.
The amphitheater still sucks.

Good news on the traffic...there was a recent article in the Indy paper about adding a technology park (and corresponding infrastructure...a.k.a. roads) in that area. It should happen by 2008 or so....
I agree with Coconuts that Jimmy loves us here, but I also think Indy for two nights before Alpine gives him a whole summertime week to hang out in one of his favorite stomping grounds, Chicago (other than when he's doing the shows).

I don't think it really matters about what city
deserves what. Indy
deserves two shows just as much as Boise, but that doesn't matter.
What matters is really very simple...
money.
JB's management negotiates the terms of each performance with the various venues... obviously, his management has a good relationship with the Verizon/Deer Creek people because he continues to do 1-2 shows there summer after summer. It's well known that his management does not have a good relationship with Pine Knob in MI anymore. Therefore, he hasn't played there much over the past few years. It could be the same with Nashville or Toronto. Or it could be that those city's venues terms don't meet the financial requirements of JB's management.
