The Ophicial Gripe About Winter Thread

Post by nycparrothead »

So, every morning I walk the 4 blocks from my apartment to the wonderful NYC bus for the 20 minute ride to work. This morning it was so cold on the bus that you could see your breath almost the entire ride! It finally started to warm up about 2 minutes before I got off and I was back outside freezing my butt off again! I'm sick and frickin' tired of the cold!!!! I've gotta get the hell out of New York!!!!

Need to rant? Feel free!

Well, I could complain about having to put up with you every day but I didn't want to hurt your feelings...

I don't have feelings .... I lost those when I was abused as a child.

if I used the language I would need to use to fully express how much I hate snow and winter, Jim would have no choice but to ban me for life......

Why is it warmer in Seattle than Dallas most of the time!!! I mean come on it's right next to freaking Canada!!!! It'll probably be freezing up there next year.

The cold weather isn't that bad. I walk from Penn Station to my office every morning and back every night, unless it's raining or snowing.

Yes, but dinosaurs are cold blooded so it doesn't affect you.

You'll have ample opportunity to return the blast sometime between June and November when it's "Cane" season here. However somehow I am pretty sure you will find the opportunity before that... :D

What kills me is when it's 65 one week and 35 the next. We don't get much of the snow but, DAMN it gets cold here in SC. When it drops into the teens, we're freezing our feathers off down here.

I've said it before: I don't know how ya'll survive in NYC (and surrounding areas) winters.

To be honest I don't know either... I'm more sensitive to the cold this year than I've ever been... If I don't get out of here by next winter I'm gonna frickin' lose it! :-?

Me too. We had a couple weeks of sub zero windchills (which really sukked), but now it's in the 30s and quite pleasant. If someone could just plow the snow off my street and the sidewalks, I would really be enjoying this weather.

I'm just holding out until St. Patrick's day... that's my unofficial first day of spring.
