After staying at some other nice "pool resorts" - Mirage, Mandalay Bay, etc..I tend to enjoy the Flamingo pool ambiance as well. It's become our favorite spot - more comfortable, down to earth and PH friendly.

- Best transportation deal.......The Public transit bus (catch it on the
Strip- cheapest way to get downtown..$2)

I wouldnt miss Vegas for the world. I have been to Vegas probably close to 50 times, but never have i been able to see Jimmy there. Last year i was deployed to Iraq, and now, well i am deployed to Iraq, BUT i get out of here in 9 days!! So I will be in Vegas staying at THEHotel at Mandalay Bay (beautiful hotel suites) from the 7th to the 11th! If you all are looking for a fun place with a great (One of the best views of the strip) try the MIX lounge!! It is beautiful and on the "43rd" floor of THEHotel at Mandalay. Anyways, if anyone wants to plan another PH party at a hotel... let me know, if you have any questions about Vegas, ill see what i can throw out there to answer you...

Commander's Palace at the Aladdin has a fabulous Sunday Jazz Brunch. They have a 3 piece wandering jazz ensemble, the Gary Queen Trio. Used to take guitar lessons from him when I lived in Veags. He is an awesome picker 8) It is a nice way to unwind and medicate your Buffett induced hangover :D

Last year in Vegas we cruised by Kahunaville on our way to a show- didn't go in - but looks very cool. Another recommended flair bartending hot spot is Carnival Court near Harrahs, one of the best in the world! (this info via Dave) 8)

great tips. Here's a fun and funny site with reviews and direct links to all the major strip and downtown hotels. http://www.cheapovegas.com/index.php

Have to tone down the recommendation for Battista's for Italian though. While I would not call the food 'excellent', it is certainly 'good', to me the walls of Vegas memorabilia and the free wine are the biggest draws, not really the food. It is fun and close though!

Ok but every now and then you simply need a break from the bright lights of Vegas. When the wife and I are in town and need a break from the Casino lifestyle we head on over to Tommy Rocker's great food, good drinks, and an overall awesome bar. Did I mention the great music in this place. Tommy's house band is a parrothead dream. A great escape just off the strip, all the cabbies know how to get there. I wish there was a Tommy Rocker's in my town. Another great escape is the Gordon Biersch Brewery. Located off the strip in a business park, again the cabbies know where it is. Hands down the best beer in Vegas, and the food is awesome. Ask for the deep fried garlic calamari strips. Also the home of the original garlic fries.

Thanks for the info

Going to Vegas next weekend to practice for April.. So, I'll check some of these places out..Can't wait till April, never been to a Vegas Buffett Show, but looking forward to getting to meet some of you. Just bought the Tommy Rocker tickets, so everything is set. Also bringing a Buffett and a Vegas virgin, so this will either get them hooked or killed..
