NO MORE CONCERTS!!!

Post by tnsna »

I was told by my wife that our concert days are through for this year. We are expecting our 2nd keet in May and my wife (trooper that she is) said no to this seasons concerts. We have been staples at the Nor Cal and Vegas shows for the last 10 years. She went to two shows in Cali within three weeks of having our first child. Ater a c-section too mind you. I was wondering how many others have missed shows due to keets being born and if you think your kids are worth it????(just kidding on that last part) :D

Unless I was actively giving birth, I don't think hubby would make me miss a show. Even then, he'd at least wait until the 1st encore to take me to the hospital.

I'm 35 weeks pregnant, and I am not going to the Charlotte or Columbia shows (I'd usually go to one) next month because of it. I will be too close to my due date then (March 3) to do anything like that. But if I wasn't due until May, I'd be there. But your wife knows what is best for her and the baby--I'm sure she'll make it up to you in the future.

Our first keet just turned one, and our second is on the way (due in September). I didn't go to any shows last year (I averaged 3/year for nine years), and I probably won't go to any this year. My wife also said that she won't go to any now that she is pregnant again. So I guess we are in the exact same boat.

Personally, I hate it. Although I could go solo, the shows just aren't any fun without my wife. So I'll just deal and check out the setlists. Can't complain too much though because I am going to Jazz Fest this year for a bachelor party.

My wife was 7 1/2 months with my daughter when we saw JB at the Texas Opry House, a small venue in Houston in 1978. After she was born, whenever she would get collicky or unhappy, we would put on some Buffett music and she would immediately calm down and get happy. We found this out by trial and error because nothing else was working. I put on Buffett and it was like magic, with my Little Miss Magic.

She is still a Buffett fan to this day and will be playing Buffett songs at her wedding/reception this summer. We're also going to the San Jose concert to celebrate her 27th birthday.

Positive proof that babies can hear the music while in the womb. She is also an outstanding pianist and I've often wondered if the music she heard before she was born contributed to her musical talents.

So...all you Moms to Be need to attend a Buffett concert so you can develop the little Keets properly!! Just stay away from the booze for awhile.

Imagine how cool it would be to later in life be able to brag that you were born at a Jimmy Buffett show. Out of 30K people packed into a tight space there has to be someone that knows how to deliver a baby :o

If not, there are plenty of PH's around you that would have the liqiud confidence to make them feel like they know how to deliver a baby :D

Mrs. Port missed a few, but unless she was in labor I wasn't missing any. She, and Delaney were nice enough to wait 10 days after Great Woods for the big day.

My wife went into heavy labor @ a Carribean Chillers concet and monthly PHlocking in Orlando. We were told that if she gave birth right there, we'd have a lifetime membership.

All three of my keets went to a show before they were born...it was great to have a designated driver in my wife. My last was born a week before GW. Had she been any later I would not have gone, but everything was fine, so off I went! What a great wife I have!!!

My biggest fear is that when I die, my wife will sell all my Buffett stuff for what I said I paid for it!

Jimmy Buffett concerts are very rare these days.
You can have a kid anytime.

Guess what my priority is! :-?
