Buffett plays at KW Margaritaville

Post by phjim »

Jimmy performed a special show last night celebating the 20th Anniversary for the Margaritaville in Key West. During the show Jimmy said, "You wont here this song on a Kenny Chesney CD, boy that guy sounds like me huh?"

Set List:
My Head hurts, My feet stink
Girl gone crazy oin Caroline street
Havana Daydreaming
Piece of Work
Tin Cup Chalice
Margaritaville
You can't always get what you want

He then came back on stage later in the night and performed "Brown Eyed Girl" and "Volcano" with the jazz band on stage.

I hate to say this, but I'm curious to see a pic of Jimmy w/ no shirt. Not because I really CARE, but more out of a strange and unfounded curiosity.... :-?

why would it take any? At this point, Jimmy can still buy and sell a guy like Chesney 3-5 times over; and I don't think Chesney will make it past the 15 year mark on the national stage before heading to Bramson to enjoy the fleshpots of central Missouri between shows.

seems to me that he was not really ripping Kenny, just being funny so I would not read much into that.
Would have been great to be there!!

I've loved Jimmy's music for many years, but also love Kenny's. I don't compare the two. For all the similarities people look for in musicians, I find it best to just judge them on their own work. Like it, or don't like it.

And IMHO, Jimmy's comments didn't sound like he was ticked off; I think was just joking given that Kenny's cd was just released and is in the news.

I don't think we'll ever see anyone quite like Jimmy :D

Just listening to RM, Steve says they may "trot out more stuff like this throughout the year".

Keep listening.
