Thanks also Prthd119 - I looked at the link, looks excellent fun! (lots of might fine chicks go to JB concerts I notice too!) :D :D
Some of make a living (or wish we could) traveling the country as time and money allow going to Buffett shows. I try to hit between four and eight a year, along with the trip to Key West. It really does become an obsession. When I travel alone, I know I'll be adopted by some groups of parrot heads within seconds of entering the parking lot, and they will supply as much beer as I can drink, which is a lot. At the risk of sounding really sexist, one of the biggest attractions of the tailgate parties is the bountiful display of the female epidermus in areas not often exposed to the sun. Tequila really can be a wonderful thing!

To UK FAN,

Another idea on Jimmy Buffett is the "Music For Monserrat" DVD. Buffett play "Volcano" on it with changes in the lyrics. It is difficult to find in the U.S. but it was filmed in England and has who's who of British music, so it might be available there. Watching the show you can see that Buffett isn't well know by the crowd. The final two songs has the most impressive "band" that I have ever seen on the stage at one time. Here is the show's line up:

1. Introduction-Sir George Martin
2. Phil Collins-Take Me Home
3. Arrow And His Band-Hot, Hot, Hot
4. Carl Perkins-Blue Suede Shoes
5. Jimmy Buffett-Volcano
6. Mark Knopfler-Brothers In Arms
7. Mark Knopfler-Money For Nothing
8. Sting-Message In A Bottle
9. Sting-Magic
10. Elton John-Your Song
11. Elton John-Live Like Horses
12. Elton John-Don't Let The Sun Go...
13. Eric Clapton-Broken Hearted
14. Eric Clapton-Layla
15. Eric Clapton-Same Old Blues
16. Paul McCartney-Yesterday
17. Paul McCartney-Golden Slumbers
18. Paul McCartney & all of the above-Hey Jude
19. Paul McCartney-& all of the above -Kansas City

Thanks PIR8-4T!

That's really interesting! I had no idea that this Video existed!

The lineup looks awesome!

What year are we talking about here as I'm surprised Queen weren't in the lineup or was that after the demise of Freddy?

Not sure what it is about Jimmy that hasn't caught on in Britain, I think perhaps he just doesn't get enough exposure, although I heard him a few times on BBC Radio 2 (the more 'easy listening' channel!) but I think he's just one of those artisits where most people know the song but not the singer! The only songs I've ever heard played on the radio over here are 'Fins' and 'Cheeseburger in Paradise'!

Welcome, UK fan!

Jimmy does a number of East Coast shows in the late spring and summer; we usually find out the entire schedule sometime in March.

He comes to enough large cities that you could probably find a decent airfare to one of them. As to tickets, the on-sale dates are generally made public ahead of time so you could plan it out.

If he was to visit Great Woods in Mansfield, MA (you could easily get there from Boston, MA), that would be awesome. The best, IMHO, pre-show tailgate gathering :) though I know we've got competition all over! Jimmy's been playing a lot of new venues this year and GW may not be in the cards but we hope he'll play nearby.

If ever in New England, our Ocean State (RI) Parrot Head Club welcomes any PH to join us at any event, and we've got plenty! Our website is www.osphc.com and is in a bit of transition (change in webmaster) but check us out.

Cheers!
