This year I'm getting off real easy. Jimmy Buffet tickets! What better way to celebrate Vday then to hear W.D.W.G.D.A.S? ----- live :D

Ok, so the show is not on the same day. Its in the same month. Tickets were a fair amount of change, so there. Its a present to each other.

That does not get me out of making a card though. I forgot one year and I will never forget again.

It is a pointless day though. Not just because of the whole I don't need a holiday to say I love you routeen. Mainly because if I don't get paid extra for it --- it's not a holiday.

For hubby and me it's a great excuse to get a sitter and go out to dinner and do "adult" things. We don't do it often enough and this is kinda like the "x" that marks the spot.

Years ago when I was a testosterone-challenged young NERD, I thought Valentines day was the greatest thing since indoor plumbing.
But now I wish the C.E.O.s at Hallmark (mostly WOMEN, no doubt) would all CHOKE on their blood money.
I'll skip the "holiday", and celebrate indoor plumbing instead.

i'm curious about your opinion on that.the way i see it the only ones who consistently get something out of it are the women.

I always put out on Valentines day. It's the least I can do.

But yes, it's geared toward men doing stuff for women. But I don't really mind with hubby. I did hate it before him, but he's managed to make it special.

I don't think I've gotten any major presents for V-Day. It's usually flowers and dinner and time alone! Which is PRICELESS!
