OK, OK, not to make too much of a fuss of it, but significant portions of that King tenor are solid sterling, and they got tarnished over the years.
And yes, my mom has always bugged me to shine it up, but I swear it sounded better like that, so... sorry, but a man's gotta stick to his guns sometimes.
That thing was definitely one of a very good kind, but I'm enjoying an old Conn and a Buescher just fine these days. The King will be most welcome when and wherever we meet again. Thanks again, everybody, for your support and good vibes!

Whoah.... your 47,000 posts to my 2? Guess I've got some catching up to do.
Of course Jimmy's got putting a tour together down to a science by now, and it goes real smoothly with this bunch of people. So far so good for this one - glad to be doin' my bit of this and bit of that.

mornin' TC ! Greeting from the Balcony Girls !
glad you could join us - lots o' luck with your missing "babies"
of course, you know you just opened yourself up for 1000 questions that bother us so . . .
so, what your feeling about my suggestion for Jimmy and his awesome musicians to do some Big Band numbers ? ?
hope you're just hanging out today and need a little diversion BuffettNews style . .
see ya in Tampa !

uh oh, let's not head down this road

No, no, you really don't want Jimmy taking advice from me... trust me on that one.
Anyway, for what it's worth (just a tiny bit more than zero), I love being in Atlanta, I love playing in big bands, and I love playing, period, so y'all are definitely preaching to the choir!
This is way out of my hands, but, hey, "believe it and it will come true" - right? (I think I remember hearing words to that effect fairly recently)

thanks, TC for a very honest answer, no more shameless prodding from me . .
hope you visit often - there are some really "entertaining" people who post here . . .by the way, beware of The Monkey . . .he seems harmless, but then again . . . .
just in case you might not have anything to do Friday night , I hear there is going to be one amazing phlocking at Mermaidindisguise's place - we would certainly be remiss if we didn't offer an invitation ! . .
tons of thanks for your great music - you are certainly one of those that make each show super-satisfying !
TAMPA TIME ! !

so true, so true

Hey man, you should hook up with some of the other band members and do a show around Atlanta then, like Mac does. Love seeing him at the Variety Playhouse

perhaps TC should take his turn in the barrel as BN'r of the day
where's Mal when you need her?

I have done pretty much exactly that several times, including at least once at the Variety, with Mac and with Peter! Have really enjoyed it every time. As much fun as it is to play huge shows with those guys as Reefers, it's probably more "personal" and maybe more "musical" to play as just us in a smaller venue where it's easier to play off each other (guess that's the jazzer in me coming out) - certainly a different vibe and I like the "variety" of it any chance I can get. It's also easy to just show up with a horn and play. No muss, no fuss, but
If you want the full onslaught of what I'm about, I really should get my occasional dream band of Haitians out on the road to rock y'all with... definitely a project of the "believe it (not to mention 'work really hard for a long time') and it will come true" variety for me. Would it matter to any of you if the lyrics weren't English? Or if there were no lyrics at all? Or if the songs went on for 20 minutes? If I did this, I'd prefer that the vegetables would stay home in people's kitchens, where they belong, instead of landing up on stage.
Who's Mal, and why do we need her? I'm curious.

BNr of the Day is basically your day in the limelight here at BN. There's a cornicopia of questions to answer about yourself. It's a ton of fun and people chime in with a bunch of questions.
Let me know if you're interested and we can pick a date.
