You are golden, girl! All so very true.
Your love of the islands is the real deal- I can almost smell the plumerias in your hair!
Aloha!
Hi praise, from you!!

Thanks!
By definition, I'm a visitor, but I hope I don't act like a tourist.....
Now, if I'd only followed my own advice:

OPHarbor wrote:Thanks for all the information. Its a lot to take in. I have a question better suited for the travel board but since we will all end up in the same place and everyone seems so knowledgeable..... I am still trying to make reservations and travel plans. Got our flight arriving on Saturday and and leaving the following Saturday (4/23) I'm thinking four days on Oahu and three in Maui. I'm looking at the Royal Hawaiian (Pink hotel) in Waikiki and the Westin in Maui. (I've got some points to redeem). does anyone have any information on these properties? Also airfare from Oahu to Maui seem's steep. does anyone have any information on inter-Island travel? Am I just stuck paying it? any information will be greatly appreciated. I've got some guys here from Japan, I keep forgeting to ask when Golden week is this year. I think its the week after the show. If y'all don't know what GW is, its a national vacation week in Japan when EVERYONE goes somewhere, many to Hawaii.
Sign up at Aloha Air's website for the free Aloha Pass. It will get you the cheapest island flights. Right now, I think it's $140 round trip for Kona to Oahu. If you can, try to visit the Big Island instead of Maui. It's a lot more open and scenic. Waipio Valley is the most beautiful place on earth. The active volcano is pretty neat too. Maui and Oahu are pretty similar and very touristy. Kona is also a lot more affordable since it's still growing. We have three restaurants out here (Hawaii, Oahu, and Maui) but Hawaii is the only island I would ever live on.....
Living out here isn't that different from the mainland. Just better.

I'll talk to the manager of our Oahu restaurant and see if they know people at Duke's. Maybe we can get a group seating area or something along those lines. From the people I've spoke to, Duke's is on the expensive side. Not a good thing for a serious pre-party. Maybe we can sneak in jello shots....

Getting out of Chicago early on the 13th ( those late tax returns can get extensions ) - off to Maui till Sunday then to Oahu - any suggestions were to stay in Maui ( any good rates ) - my wife has been trying but no bargains out there - spent my 50th in Vegas in 2000; my 55th will be on the 17th in Hawaii - of course my wife wasn't with me in Vegas
Back to those tax returns
Thanks for any help

Regards,
I have heard nothing out here on the islands. Not sure he'd do two shows given the thin tour dates on the mainland.
