peavy is OK, if you like THAT kind of pitcher
The kind with a 2.24 ERA? Peavy throws in the 90's and keeps hitters off balance and is not afraid to throw inside. Bonds has stated several times that he thinks he has the dirtiest stuff in the NL

No....BONDS has the dirtiest stuff in the NL...it's called his blood!!!!
They tried to give him a urine test and the freakin' cup kept melting

LOL...

Cubbie, you might be thinking of Brian Lawrence who only thrown in the mid 80's but can be so hard to make solid contact against.

Just heard this...the last time the Red Sox won the World Series, the following year had the following happen:

Baseball became embroiled in controversy (Black Sox)
Hockey cancelled the Stanley Cup playoffs (flu)

This time:
Controversy (Steroids)
Hockey (Labor)

I think it bodes well for the Sox. They can win again, because I don't think the NHL will be back next year either...

Sorry Captain...The sports historian in me thought that was a bit suspect so I had to check first. Probably some Sports Radio guy that doesn't know crap (Most are like that) speaking before reading.
Following the Red Sox win in 1918 the NHL was not yet known as the NHL and only 3 teams from Canada competed for the "Pro" league. There was not a team from the USA to play in that league untill the 1924/25 season (Boston Bruins). There were 4 teams in the 1917/18 season but the Montreal Wanderers arena burned down and they did not ever play again. The winner took home the Cup. The standing were:
1918-1919
Team GP W L T GF GA PTS
Ottawa Senators 18 12 6 0 71 53 24
Montreal Canadiens 18 10 8 0 88 78 20
Toronto Arenas 18 5 13 0 64 92 10

As for the Baseball scandel....It was actually a scandel after the 1919 season when The White Sox threw the World Series to the Reds. The news came out during the 1920 season and the trial took place following that season. By the way...the White Sox have only been to 1 World Series since and have not won since 1917. The WS only titles were in 1906 and 1917. The second longest without a title. The Cubs have only won in 1907 and 1908 and not any since.
