They will be fine. This is just a disinformation campaign that the Cubs are putting on so the rest in the NL Central will not worry about themiuparrothead wrote:Good move? Huh?msu#1 wrote:Prior and Wood are hurt. hahaha good move cubbies![]()

I am just marking Cubbie's words. I can honestly say that I trust nobody's opinion on baseball more than Cubbie's. He is the pro. I hope that they have good years.iuparrothead wrote:PHBeerman wrote:Still marking words.Cubbie Bear wrote:Break-out years for Wood and Prior, mark my words![]()
geek. The optimistic Cubs sources are saying they are injuries that will probably happen every spring with those two guys...
So shut the hell up.

Sail on Dick Raditz...
Many of you may not know who he is but he was a Sox player back in the day. I am a youngin' so I never saw him play but I listened to his many appearances on WEEI and met him once at a Sox game. He lived in the town I currently go to school in and today he fell down a flight of stairs and passed away. He was a great Red Sox player and a great person.

I heard this on the radio when I was on the train this morning. The sports guy on the station said Raditz struck Mickey Mantle out 54 times in his career. Not too shabby.parrothead338 wrote:Sail on Dick Raditz...

Here is a small blurb from today's Boston Globe.
''The Monster" nickname was born in 1963, after a game against the Yankees in Fenway Park in which Mr. Radatz entered with the bases loaded and struck out Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, and Elston Howard -- all American League MVPs at one time -- on a total of 10 pitches.
Mantle, the story goes, was heard to grumble about ''that monster" afterward, and a nickname was born. Newspaper reports say Mr. Radatz faced Mantle, a Hall of Famer, 63 times, and struck him out 47 times.
''Mickey used to say, 'Damn it, I know what he's going to throw and I still can't hit it," Monbouquette said. ''I think he hit one home run off Dick, in Yankee Stadium, and I think Dick broke his bat.
