With Buehrle, Garcia, and Garland's complete game wins in the games 2, 3, and 4, a White Sox starter went the complete game for the win. When was the last time a team's starters got 3 consecutive complete game wins in the playoffs? Points for naming the team, year, and the pitchers.
New York Mets
1973 NLCS
Tom Seaver, Jon Matlack and Jerry Koosman
against Cincinnati.
Nope.
Game 1: Tom Seaver pitched a complete game, but they lost
Game 2: John Matlack CG Shutout
Game 3: Jerry Koosman CG -> 2 runs allowed in win
Game 4: George Stone starts, but is relieved by Tug McGraw, and then by Harry Parker, who got the loss.

Time for the public scrutiny to come down hard on theses guys...again!
Hey, they just got a call right in the Angels game. Figgins hits a shot into the rightfield corner with Kennedy on first. A fan reaches over the stands to grab the ball. The ball would have stayed on the field had the fan not touched it and Kennedy would have scored. After the initial rule of a ground-rule double (Kennedy has to stop @ 3rd), the umps get together and award Kennedy home plate. Angels lead 3-2, top 6.
Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar
Congrats Cubs....eeerrrr...White Sox fans. I hope every White Sox fan invites a Cubs fan over to watch the WORLD SERIES. I bet the southside is rocking tonight.

Tonight?!?! How about all week. 7 down 4 to go.
Timing in life is everything!
Alpine, Blossom, Noblesville, Poplar Creek, Tinley, Toyota Park, Vegas, Wrigley; 22 years and counting.
I belive Konerko was named MVP, but I think Crede deserved it. 2 game winning hits and driving in the run that tied things up tonight. Crede had a higher average during the ALCS as well.

The pitching coach deserved the MVP.

MORE TRIVIA-
One more loss by the Cardinals, and it won't happen THIS year, but the last N.L. team to make two consecutive World Series appearances was the Atlanta Braves (1995 & '96, winning the W.S. in '95).
The last N.L. team to make THREE consecutive World Series appearances was the St. Louis Cardinals (1942, '43, & '44, winning the fall classic in '42 & '44).
The ONLY N.L. team to make FOUR consecutive World Series appearances was the New York Giants (1921-1924, winning in 1921 & '22).
The last National League team to WIN two consecutive World Series was the Cincinnati Reds of 1975 & '76.
No National League team has won three consecutive World Series.

Pujols should NOT have been running. And the announcers kept toting his 16 stolen bases during the year, making it sound like he was some speed demon. They neglected to tell you that over half of them came as parts of double steals.

Too many umpires think that they're part of the game just like the players. The sign of a good umpire? You don't talk about him the next day and you'll never know his name.

If St. Louis doesn't win tonight, then it would make it 7 years in a row (at least) that the team with the best record in baseball hadn't won the World Series. I think the last team that won the World Series with the best record was the Yankee of 1998 (is that the year they won 114 games?).

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

i agree there......but crede would of been my choice.
in the other series......the strike zone was pretty consistant the whole game........it was boarderline on Edmons , but i thought it was a strike in contex on what the strike zone is defined as......Edmons said the majic words and got tossed.
