I know I'm probably harping on a subject that non one in this thread cares about, but the St. Louis Post Dispatch dug this up:

The umpire that ejected Tony LaRussa and Jim Edmonds last night failed his umpire entrance exam ( I forget the name of it) THREE times, and was already fired from MLB umpiring once and rehired.
