Any of you statistician types know how common it is for a team to "get er done" so effectively in the post season? Have any modern day teams swept all the way through? Didn't the White Sox only lose one game - does that happen much?
I don't normally pay much attention, but I really enjoyed the run - they really seem like a great group of down to earth guys, with a very comfortable chemistry!

The White Sox went 11-1 in their 12 postseason games -- tying the '99 Yankees for the best postseason record of the 11-season wild-card era.

The White Sox became just the third team in history to sweep a World Series after a season in which they were in first place every day of the season. Those other two teams were the 1990 Reds and the fabled '27 Yankees.

I was watching one of the Chicago local morning shows and that was brought up. Apparently, Ozzie now wants to be the first Latin manager to win an All-star game. He'll be back for 2006.CaptainP wrote:Does anyone want to read anything into Ozzie's post-game comments? Did he say he's going to quit?

I'm guessing it was a translation error. Does anyone really understand anything Ozzie says?CaptainP wrote:Does anyone want to read anything into Ozzie's post-game comments? Did he say he's going to quit?

Great spoof about the Fox announcers. i don't care for the writer who wrote it but this was funny.

111 days until pitchers and catchers report.
by then the Red Sox will probably have a new GM, third-baseman, second-baseman, first-baseman, center-fielder and left-fielder to go along with their new 3rdbase coach and another Fenway Park renovation http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Glob ... 3_7168.jpg
Another words, the hot stove will be working OT.
