The wife and I are taking a trip to Key West this May. Does anyone have any good suggestions for a Bed and Breakfast down there.

My hubby and I love the Key West Harbor Inn at the end of Elizabeth St. near the Historic Seaport. It's quiet and secluded with beautiful gardens and a pool and as soon as you step out of the gate you are in the middle of everything. We are going back the first weekend of May (again) ourselves!

We stayed at the Garden House on Elizabeth, close to Duval and all good stuff. It's fairly cheap, has a lagoon-style pool (at one end, it has jets, very soothing for the back, etc.!!), Continental breakfast (GREAT lemony cake, etc.), nice people own it. Parking is a problem during heavy tourist season, though. Web address:
www.the-garden-house.com . Really cheap place: l'habitation on Eaton. Definitely not luxury, web site:
www.lhabitation.com . The Chelsea House on Truman is pretty. Web site:
www.chelseahousekw.com . Also check out the Merlin Guest House. A good site to look up B&B's is:

I've stayed in several B+B's in Key West and hands down the best is the Nassau house. Check out their web site or the guest reviews on Trip advisor. The trip reviews sound like they are written by the owners but honest to god the place is as good as everyone says!
http://www.nassauhouse.com/ (there's a link to trip advisor from here)
We went in November '04 and made our reservations for '05 before we left.
PM me if you'd like more info...

ABSOLUTELY ! POSITIVELY hands down for the Nassau House ! ! !
we have stayed there many times - only a few blocks to Jimmy's and even less than that to Schooner's Wharf .

We have a reservation for the Tucker Inn Cottages on Cudjoe Key from March 5-13. We stayed there 2 years ago and absolutley loved it. It's only 20 miles from mecca. Also only 20 feet from the ocean and 700 bucks for 8 days.
Can't wait!!!!!

I did not like Louie's Backyard. It seemed kinda uppity.
A couple of locals at the outside bar were giving us sh#t about being tourists. Of course they did seem to be quite drunk.
Of coures I'll go back and hope the same guys are not there.

I can definitely see what you mean. I say F-EM all you are there to have a good time, if you like that place don't let some a$$ who was a tourist once themselves give you sh!t.
