6 degrees of separation for Jimmy?

Post by Jimmy4pres »

I am sure many of you have heard of the 6 degrees of separation. For those that don't know, it is the belief that everyone in the world is connected by 6 people or less (someone you know, knows someone, who knows someone, etc.) What is your 6 degrees of separation for Buffett?

A phone call to Dell support got me thinking about this. The support guy and I were making small talk while waiting for my modem to re-boot, and started talking about concerts. I mentioned that I was going to Vegas to see Buffett in April. The guy replied, "Yea, I know him. I used to hang out by his house, party with him, etc." Shocked and surprised, I dug deeper. Turns out (from what the guy said) his ex-girlfriend's dad was good friends with Jimmy, and this guy got to hang out with Jimmy on a number of occasions. He said that he has alot of signed pics, etc.

So, Dell guy -> ex-girlfriend -> ex-girlfriend's dad-> Jimmy.

Three degrees of separation. How about you? :D

I've met Charleston (body guard). And I've been drankin with JL (Jimmy's sound guy) and Dan (Jimmy's guitar guy). Oh yeah, and I got to shake JB's hand in Asheville and I think ASH shook his hand in Vegas. Is that close enough?

I know the band manager from the band The Clarks, who knows a lot of people in the Recording industry who probably knows Jimmy Buffett.

There's a FedEx guy who delivers pacakges to my office. They obviously get their paychecks from the same company. How's that? :lol:

Cool! We should go out sometime to a gay bar wearing the same shirt! As for the cell phone, i can't remember.. I've had a new one for about a year and that one is just sitting on the shelf and can't remember what kind it was...

Jimmy's never used my cell phone, but I can get there in two degrees in several different directions.

I've met Key Lime Lee, he's met Jimmy and done some web design work for several Margaritaville stores.

I've met Renee and Jen, they've both met Jimmy.

I've met Ralph MacDonald (his wife Grace contributed to our cookbook), Roger Guth, Jim and Peter Mayer, they've all been in the band for a long time.

I drank beer with Captain Tony, he's met Jimmy.

What you can't see is that JB is actually writing an SOS note to Charleston. :lol:

Jimmy is a client...thats a pretty close degree

Actually...my boss is the contact, I've been at meetings...but I'd never be allowed to talk to him as a fan.

I don't think Buffett's been added yet but there's cool web site out there that's attempting to create a rock n' roll "family tree" of sorts called bandtoband.com:
