In Vegas last spring, me and my man spent about 20 mintues chatting with a fellow named Micky Thompson, who we met in the elevator and who turned out to be one of JB's tour bus driver's. He's been with Jimmy for many years and told us a few amusing stories about the man... including the info that JB hasn't actually been on a tour bus in years.

Me > Mickey > Jimmy. :D

Let's see...I was thinking I was about 50 degrees removed (averages out the closeness some of you have had) and then I remembered this. Last summer I bought a tent from an outfitter, and while he was showing me how to set it up he asked if I was a Buffett fan -- 'cause of my t-shirt. Apparently he had been backstage at a show because he had met Jimmy's road manager. To me that's a very weak 3, but I guess it counts. :-? I think I can do better....

I work with a guy who grew up in Key West. He and Jimmy are about the same age and traveled in the same (bar) circles when Jimmy was living in KW. So I'll say 3

Me>> friend>> Jimmy

I also met Captain Tony when I was in KW last month, 3 days later Jimmy was in town for M'ville's 20th.

Well, since none of us have said it yet, and there are many of us, I am friends with Johnny and Chavez and markp on BN, also known as Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band, and they've backed up Jimmy for many of the CIP openings.

After studying our bookshelf and CD collection, the guy who delivered our sofa a year ago says he rode in an elevator in a hotel in Boston with Jimmy Buffett and Stephen King. He didn't say anything to them, but he did wish for the elevator to get stuck. Should I believe him?

I met Mac MacAnaly at Margaritaville Key West last Thanksgiving Eve and had breakfast with him ;) the day after Thanksgiving... And he knows Jimmy Buffett real well.

Degrees from JB

JB was reported eating an egg salad sadwich with celeb comedian Gilbert Gottfried. (earlier post). My mom use to make me an egg salad sandwich. 2 deggrees.

:-)
I know Jimmy Buffett, Jimmy Buffett is a friend of mine. Son, you're no Jimmy Buffett!

I have met Jimmys nephew Sam several times. I think Sam is Jimmys sisters kid. Sam used to be road manager for Todd Snider off and on over the last few years. What a nice guy. I've got to hangout with himseveral times. We spent an evening a couple years running a few "errands" for Todd Snider.

I know Will Kimbrough who wrote a song that Jimmy has recorded. Will plays on Jimmys new cd and has played a few shows with him.

I know Todd Snider. I guess you could say that Jimmy gave him his big break. He has toured with Jimmy and has a relationship with Jimmy.

I shook Buffetts hand in the parking lot at Riverbend. He and several Coral Reefers were driving thru the lot in a huge Hummer. They stopped and said hello to me and my girlfriend at the time. I'm sure they stopped because she was hot!
