Cheeseburger in Paradise ...Madison, Wisconsin
There is a rumor that Buffett might drop by the Madison CIP resturant in May when he's up for the Brewers/Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Anyone else hear about this? I have no date, but I gotta be there!!!

To be honest, nobody ever really knows when Buffett is going to show up, with very few exceptions. I'm thinking specifically of a night last year between the Chicago Tinley Park shows where Jimmy not only plugged our restaraunt twice, but let our management know that Jimmy might be stopping by. (I work for the CIP in Downers Grove) On word of mouth alone, the restaraunt was on an hour wait before we even opened the doors, and everyone that got in the place was not about to leave if the chance that Jimmy was going to be there was true. As a server, I didn't make a thing all day. Well, maybe $60. But for a Friday night? Hmph. Anyway, to make a long story short, we were on notice to "maybe expect Jimmy", we had upscaled our security, there was a fistfight or two, and when it was all over about 1:30 in the morning, Jimmy never came.
I hope he comes to visit any of the three restaraunts in the area, but we'll never really know for sure where he'll be until around a half hour before he shows up. He's been known to change his mind about public appearances.

That's really disappointing. I remeber when Buffett bought our minor league basball team here in Madison. Rumors were flying around town for weeks Jimmy was going to sing the national anthem on opening day. 8,000 fans filled Warner Park for two and a half hours and Jimmy never appeared. We all felt disappointed. So much for believing unfounded rumors!

4th interview is set up. We had trouble getting our schedules to match up, so I'm driving down to Illinois to meet with him, but not for another week and a half. Good thing they're not in a hurry!!!!!Coconut Bra wrote:When do you hear about if you got the job? I hope you do, I hope you do!!! Funny thing is, I only mentioned Buffett at all once or twice. I don't want it to look like that's my only reason for wanting to work for them.Tiki Bar wrote:waphids!!!aparrotheadindenver wrote:CaptainP wrote:4th interview is set up. Thanks for bringing back a great memory. Drinking beer with Governor Tommy Thompson on the Party Deck during the game was another highlight of that day.

Plus you mentioned the Beach Bum Band once or twice, so that should help out too.CaptainP wrote:Funny thing is, I only mentioned Buffett at all once or twice. I actually mentioned Johnny Russler before I mentioned Jimmy Buffett...Beachbum_29 wrote:Plus you mentioned the Beach Bum Band once or twice, so that should help out too.CaptainP wrote:Funny thing is, I only mentioned Buffett at all once or twice.
