Last Book Read....

Post by Pirate Lookin' at 40 »

So has anyone here read anything since ASPOL??

I just finished "End of the Drive" by Louis L'Amour, and am about halfway through "Monument Rock" also by L'Amour.
I love JB's books, but it's really hard to beat a good LL story.

Rest in peace cowboy, a job well done.

Last one I read was Torpedo Juice by Tim Dorsey. Every bit as good as his other ones!

The Broker by John Grisham. It was okay, but not as "notputdownable" as I find some of his.

I am in the middle of re reading Triggerfish Twist, and I am waiting on Torpedo Juice as the guy I bought it from is getting it signed...wooohoooo! I have been wanting to read some more Travis McGee books, but I need Dorsey now to help me get out of my funk (the funk being I just got back to RI from FLa).

"TRIPWIRE" by Lee Childs....reviewers are always comparing the main character in the series of books (Jack Reacher) to Travis McGee. They're RIGHT! He hangs in Key West, the typical tall built knight-errand, solving mysteries and almost getting killed. Very cool. :P

I'm not sure these qualify as books but they're what I'm currently reading. The special issue devoted to Cash and the history of country rock is highly recommended to fans of either.

The Nirvana/Grunge issue is also highly informative and one I haven't been able to put down since I purchased it. I was never a huge fan of Nirvana or grunge but my interest was recently renewed after viewing Gus Van Sant's Last Days which is loosely based on Kurt Cobain.

I haven't read that one but I did read Key Weirder. I should have just burned a $10 bill instead, what a waste of money. Trees died so that book could get printed.

I'm almost done - The Life and Legend of Waytt Earp

Awesome book.
"Oh all the money that e'er I spent, I spent it in good company.
And all the harm that I ever did, Alas it was to none but me.
And since it falls, unto my lot, that I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and I'll softly call, 'Goodnight and Joy be with you all.'"
