I'm really looking for a "dreamers" type book. Adventure and fantasy in the Caribbean type thing....

yes, just like A Salty Piece of Land or Where is Joe Merchant. I absolutley love those dreamers books...it's the cloest I'll get to disappearing into the Caribbean....

any suggestions are appreciated :pirate:

Wish I could help. The last book I read from cover-to-cover was Dr. Seuss' The Sneetches.

It is set on the beach though.

I just finished a classic old book by Robert Wilder called Wind From The Carolinas. It was superb.

It was on Jimmy's list of favorite books. It is a beautiful story of a family of Loyalists who moved to Exuma after the revolution. They took everything, including the bricks from their home. The stories about the family's adventure were amazing.

It was the best historical fiction I have ever read. Jimmy even dedicated his Son Of A Son Of A Sailor to Juan Cadiz. He was a pirate type character who married the first daughter in the family tree.

It is a dreamer's book for sure.

Don't Stop the Carnival?

Sure it's tongue-in-cheek, and lacks a happy ending, but IMHO that's half the charm.

Try Playboys Girls of the Gulf Coast It's got that dreamy fantasy thing, some of the bikinis or lack there of are pretty adventurous, and the proximity of the shoot to the caribbean is going on. Damn come to think of it, this book has everything.
