I-95 A$$hole

One of my friends said she had a clip for me to listen to. She said it was sung by Buffett. I Thought it must not be, since I had heard damn near everything by JB. But when I listened to it, it sure sounded like Buffett singing. She said it was called I-95 A$$hole. The song started with " Well I was driving down I-95 the other night, and some body nearly cut me right off the road" Anyone have any other info about this song? I have never heard it, but it sure seems to be JB singing it

There's a few tunes out there that you can download along the same lines of "Where you born an a**hole" Just go to a download program and type buffett and see what comes up.

Well I was drivin' down I-95 the other night.
Somebody nearly cut me right off the road.
I decided it wasn't gonna do any good to get mad.
So I wrote a song about him instead.
It goes like this...

Were you born an a**hole?
Or did you work at it your whole life?
Either way it worked out fine
'cause you're an a**hole tonight.

Yes you're an A S S H O L E...
And don't you try to blame it on me.
You deserve all the credit.
You're an a**hole tonight.

You were an a**hole yesterday.
You're an a**hole tonight.
And I've got a feelin'
you'll be an a**hole the rest of your life.

And I was talkin' to your mother
just the other night.
I told her I thought you were an a**hole.
She said, "Yes. I think you're right."

And all your friends are assholes
'cause you've known them your whole life.
And somebody told me
you've got an a**hole for a wife.

Were you born an a**hole?
Or did you work at it your whole life?
Either way it worked out fine
'cause you're an aaaass...hole tonight.

It's actually not by Buffett. It was recorded by Fred “August” Campbell and the Spur of the Moment Band and is available for purchase from this web site:

Jahfin is correct. It is called "The I-95 Song" and is indeed sung by August. After listening it does sound exactly like a young Buffett, but alas, it is not.

It probably goes back to the rampant mislabeling many songs received in the heyday of Napster.

Ok by my count this is what the 4th time someone has brought this up?

Yes Jahfin is correct. (hey jah can you believe I just said that?)

I even remember someone once swearing that the juke box in his local watering hole had the song on there and it was labled Jimmy Buffett.

This is one that is never going to go away.

It's probably one of those questions that belongs in a Buffett FAQ and probably is, somewhere.

Don, that was me. And I SWEAR it was on that jukebox as a B-side to Margaritaville. The jukebox was replaced a few years back with a CD model, or I'd have taken a picture of the card.

I'm not saying that it was JB singing it, just attesting to how it was listed.

Ah I remember now. Yes you never did claim it was Jimmy, just listed as so.
