Aloha!!

Is anyone going to be able to get any work done today? I'm sitting here, reading the past posts and dreaming of a Corona in my paws and Jimmy singing to me! I'm a basket case - I'm physically here but mentally, I'm on vacation - in Margaritaville! I just cannot wait til we depart for PA tomorrow!!

See ya all tomorrow at Margarita Mamas!!

Unfortunately we will miss the Saturday festivities, but will be there full force by noon on Sunday. For those of you stationed at the Marriott, any thoughts on cooler transport to the lot?

I was planning to park at Station Square but I could also be be cooler transportation if you guys decide to do that. If we could coordinate with Fanvan maybe we could be nearby?

Are we SURE tubing is legal on the river? (with the barges and everything). Entry points...hmmm, anyone ever jumped off a bridge?! :o FP - I am totally joking here, don't EVEN run with that one!

Four Play - I'll pick up some Ziplock bags.

Cooler Transporters - THANK YOU VERY MUCH! :P How about finding out when fanvan plans to arrive at PNC on Sunday morning, set-up a meeting location (i.e. Burger King on the corner of Blank and Blank) and then drive into the lots together? I really hate asking the CT's to go out of their way, but please know that I REEEEEEEEALY appreciate it.

Oh, and one more thing...we're now planning to arrive Saturday afternoon instead of Sunday morning. WOOHOO!

Yeah - talk about a change of heart :pirate:

This is probably going to be either the best or worst idea I've ever had surrounding a Buffett concert - that has yet to be determined!
Personally, I sure hope it's the best idea.... :o :-?
You and me both, Q&S! Whatever happens, the planning sure was phun! :D

Change of heart...if you guys haven't read the Sam Pittman thread in the social forum, I'd encourage you to do so. Sure made me realize how short and precious life is and that I need to enjoy it to the fullest while I can 'cause this chickie's not getting any younger. :-?

We're staying at the Mariott too. I'm thinking that maybe we'll head to Station Square for a bit, catch a cab back to the hotel, grab our cooler (one we don't care about), walk to the parking lots (it's only 5 blocks) and then party down! We won't mind leaving our cooler behind when it's show time - i'm sure it will be empty by then anyways - I'm thirsty right now! :P

Is anyone planning on checking out the "Boat Party" at PNC before the show?

I wonder if we could get a taxi to do it? Pay him up front and tell him to go to fanvan's lot...
We are willing to be Cooler Transportation (thanks BigPHan) to PNC. Has anybody heard from fanvan? Maybe we can hook up with him and work out a meeting.
Is anyone a school district transportation director?!?!? I think our Cooler Transporters need a big yellow sign on top of their vehicles like school vans have...the CT's will have precious cargo, ya know!

I'd like to! Is it going to be in front of PNC? If so, it would be easy to do the parking lot(s) and boat party.

I'm trying to find out more info...but it looks like your closest point of entry is the Point...there's nothing by Station Square. That whole river area from St Square to PNC is a No Wake Zone...but the question is do they allow anyone to get into the water right there. There's usually a lot of boat traffic right there so I'm not sure. If I find anything else out I'll keep all of the Tube Party hopefuls informed.

I just got hit with a big project so I'll be busy working most of the day.
Here's a single post with my latest thoughts...

I just talked to fanvan. He is planning to get in line for parking at 10AM on Sunday. He will call me around that time to tell me where he is. He is open to someone coming to meet him either in line or at the lot with our coolers. We need to make this as easy as possible for everyone involved. Can everyone who wants their cooler at PNC meet big hat carmen at Station Square by 10AM? Or would it be better to push it back to 1PM and take a minivan taxi over to PNC?

Big Hat Carmen - it's up to you. I'll be at Station Square the whole time so it doesn't matter to me. You're the one going out of your way on this, so you get to make the rules. Decide what YOU want to do and then set a deadline for everyone to bring their coolers to Station Square.

I just sent out the final contact list - no new additions please. For anyone that's not on the contact list wanting to find the tailgate on Sunday, please call the Hotline at 214-512-9439...

I got a couple of PM's re: the river. The No-Wake zone doesn't bother me. It's the entry / exit points and potential debris in the river. I'll have to wait until I see it to decide. The tubes are out of the attic and the wetsuit bag is already packed, so what the hell. We'll either do the float trip or head over on the Gateway Clipper.

Later...

Oh and I think the Boat Party parrotbay02 is referring to is the Gateway Clipper party at the Station Square dock...I could be wrong...

Four Play: I'll keep your cell just in case you can get in the river...haven't spoke w/ the captain of our friends boat yet...but I'll see what he says about towing the tubes.

There's a pretty popular concert going at The Ampitheatre at St Square Saturday night...so you can get a feel of what the boat traffic will be like for Sunday and if it looks doable.

Good luck!!

The info i have says there is a Parrothead Boat Party docked at PNC Park all day (well, from noon til 8pm). It's on "Pittsburgh's biggest party boat - the Majestic" and they have a menu consisting of chicken, ribs, nachos & burgers. It also says they will have margaritas, bottled water, fountain drinks & beer. I think my friends' boss got the info for me - he lives in Pitt. It says admission is free too. And there will be entertainment. By the sounds of things, I think we'll all be our own entertainment!

Thinking out loud here...

With the Gateway Clipper Boat Party being at PNC instead of Station Square, we might want to head over there earlier - say 12PM. In that case we would need to coordinate the cooler transportation earlier and have big hat carmen park with fanvan.

Is anyone opposed to having their cooler at Station Square by 10AM on Sunday?

I talked to big hat carmen and she said this is ok with her...

My latest and greatest brain storm…

I think my party (4 of us) will walk with our coolers from the Mariott to the parking lots and try to find all of you around noon. Tailgating is my main priority!! Hey, I’m easy, what can I say?! Anyways, once we locate all of you, maybe we’ll leave our cooler for a minute if we really want to check out the boat party. I think I’ve ruled out Station Square on Sat. (for us) now that I know the boat thing is for real. I’d much rather be as close to PNC as possible without having to drive! I’ve heard traffic in Pitt is horrendous. That would cut into my consumption time and I can’t have that!! Anyone want to make a PH conga line from the hotels to the parking lots?!?!

The deadline to have coolers at Station Square is 10AM on Sunday. You can bring them Saturday night if you like. I will store coolers in my room for a fee of 2 cold beers per cooler (j/k) :pirate:
